Captain's Log, date 11-09-3307.I'm a few days late with this one, been preoccupied on some other obligations lately, but I'm making good on my promise to do another log when I reached the next waypoint. And reached the next waypoint I have.
Way #7, officially the halfway point of the journey. That realization is... a big one. I've been months into this journey, with multiple detours on the way, and I've just now reached the halfpoint. Really opens my eyes to how massive the galaxy really is. When you're constantly jumping to the nearest star, the vastness of the galaxy sets in. And then you realize this is only one galaxy, in a sea of infinite stars. A humbling thought, for sure, but it doesn't take away from my goals. As enormous as the Milky Way is, I still want to see as many of the sights as I can with the time I have.
On my way back from the bubble, I did just that. I took a more vertical route and found some black holes way above the galactic plane. Very interesting phenomenon, but not one I want to get very close to.
It was a nice detour, but eventually made my way back to the route, and I've been chugging along on that.
Not much more to say, so I'll keep on trucking. See you at the next waypoint.
