I am Earthborn who migrated to LHS 3447 while training in the Pilots Federation Academy. I am now Starborn. I made a start as a courier then pretty soon found my way in cargo hauling. In my first month of having my pilot's licence I was picked up by the Crimson Alliance serving under the Armada as a scout for the better half of the year. The Crimson Armada was a fleet of pilots mainly made up of experienced belters and veterans who earned their trade through mining and bounty hunting. Extremely lucrative but mining was never my thing.
Eventually I ended up going rogue after realising the opportunities in trading and putting my acquired skills to use in my own bounty hunting and charting routes in and around the bubble. Having picked up a reputation with countless corperations and minor factions within the bubble, participation was inevitable with community wide multi-system accomplishments with a bit of smuggling and transportation in between all the while staying under the radar of the major governments. I walk amongst the stars alone.. Or so I thought..
During the recent major Thargoid invasion while helping with the relief and response efforts of the multiple systems under the alien attack, I realised the magnitude of the invasion and the very threat to all of humanity. Hearing the stories of flightless injured pilots and traumatised civilians, families being torn apart by the damage and corrosion implimented by the xeno attacks, begging for me to bring them to safety, sparing as much of my own rations and medica supplies as I could. I have only seen photos and footage of the Thargoids, but the look in the eyes of those who had witnessed them for themselves, I could only imagine the true horror of what they had seen. That is until I was pulled out of hyperspace and scanned by one. Admittedly, I never got to to actually see the creature while in stasis, but for the first time in my life I had felt true fear even after being seamlessly let go. The stories I had heard over the years I now believe are to be true.
I had always felt safe alone in the deep wide void of the cosmos, but having the realisation that this remarkable place we call the 'Milky Way' is shared with a life form that seems intent on destroying us and is more then capable of wiping all of us out has me contemplating the near future. Battle reports I've read indicate that there are only a small number of pilots who have dedicated years to hunting and repelling Thargoids, though there numbers fluctuate, they can kill hundreds in a week and make it look easy. But they just keep coming. For as many people as there are living in the galaxy, I wouldnt be surprised if there were more of them then us.
I've managed to acquire some AX weaponry recently so when the time comes, I'll be ready. Having said that, I am reminded of the encrypted mesage I recently recieved from an old friend I knew back on the Dalton Gateway station.
