MY ELITE - CMDR [REDACTED] JOURNAL-LOG ENTRY #7

Farewell to the Core.

It looks like my days with the Federation have been cut short. The Federal Republic Navy have recently unified with the Federal Liberal Navy under the Federal United Command, an allied force dedicated to the expansion and defence of federal space. While this is a positive outcome for the Federation, I had seen it as a perfect opportunity to slip out of my indentured service while the changes were being made within the fleets and central command.

In my recent logs, I have had to constrain what I was logging in my entries due to federal eyes watching me closely. Now I can tell you or who ever is reading this, everything. I stole a data log with information about my father from Dr. Kovac. When realizing I could finally have piece of mind in finding out what really happened to him, I took the chance of a way out of this program of inherited service including being stationed at the Warren Prison Mine on for the next 3 years.

I received these orders after a stranger approached me at Engel Hub. I was there to rendezvous with a Federal Security Officer to assist with a cross-planetary incident. The elderly stranger had mistaken me for someone named [REDACTED] and assumed I had finally found what I was looking for in Colonia. He then proceeded to ask how was the 'lunar girl' going. All of a sudden the man was taken away by the local security. The name he had mistaken me for with the mentioning of Colonia and a 'lunar girl' gave me those familiar feelings. Like a moment of deja vu sent to me from across the galaxy.

I ignored the burly old man then proceeded to finish the task assigned to me. Upon returning to Nanomam, I was greeted by Dr. Kovac and my CO who scheduled an emergency appointment. That is when they told me about extending my service to 5 years and sending me off to Ross 128 with a prescription of new medications. I asked about my father for the final time wanting to know where and how he died, when he even died and what his name even was. Instead of being met with the same answer, this time I was offered a choice. Serve my 3 year stationing at the prison in exchange for the data log or recieve it now and get moved back to Dalton Gateway for full-time maintenance with my pilot's licence revoked. I knew something was wrong, I had known this for a while now. This was the last lie I was going to let them tell me and the last lie I would tell them in return. I accepted the move to Dalton Gateway, then I was going to find out the truth.

My escape was sloppy. Federal Security must of been given orders to be on alert in case I was going to make any noise in disagreement. I made plenty of noise. I blew up somebodies Eagle as a distraction and left a body or two behind my path on the way out. My ships were locked in the docking bay to prevent my escape, so I had to commandeer a drop ship in need of repairs. It got me to where I needed to go, luxkily I had my trusty Diamondback stashed at a nearby station then made my way far out of Federal space.

Word must of got out about the incident putting me on a wanted list, grabbing the attention of the Empire. I received an encrypted message telling me to 'Come Home. The flock is waiting'. Could this be an attempt to bait me into a trap or raise the idea of defecting to an Imperial fleet? I dismissed it as a crossed signal as the Federal Navy or the Empire, or even both, must of been trying to hack my systems at the time.

When I finally had a chance to dig through the data log, what I found had me eagerly anxious yet confused at same time. My father, [REDACTED], crashed his ship somewhere in Colonia but his body was recovered in the Bernard's Loop sector in 3301. The log also mentions something about a 'Catalyst' and cartography maps classed as 'secured' along with 'reports predict subject will avoid future contact'. The only thing I can understand from any of this is learning my father's name and the eldery stranger at Engel Hub must have mistaken me for him. What is this catalyst and where do the maps lead? Could there be anything left of my father's ship? And who is the lunar girl, is she the same woman from my dreams?

It is finally time for me to start my journey to Colonia. To finally leave the control of the Federation and it's forced lifestyle of dependence. It is finally time for answers.
