Hi, uhm. This is Alexis. I'm waaay overdue making a log. So this might be a long one.
After I angrily departed the T.O.C. Solaris I kind of went my own way, also going dark in the Concourse channel of the squadron.
I decided to take a neutron highway to the other side of the bubble, I had quite a distance to travel since the Solaris was over 2000 lightyears out anyway. I went for some sightseeing on my way.
As it happened, I stumbled upon the T.O.C. Acidik, owned by CMDR Novus and a fellow TCON member, and decided to dock.
I went to say hi to Novus.. After all, he was about the only person that understood me while I got into a fight in Concourse, it's the least I could do.
We started chatting small talk, about current events and started talking about my behavior in Concourse.
I was about to start yet another arguement, but he reasoned that I could use some activity, like bounty hunting, to think about what happened in Concourse and find my cool again, that it was in no way a personal attack.
He then went on and offered me a Chieftain to use for bounty hunting! He explained that it was a recently decomissioned ship from his AX activities and it just got out of decontamination.
It had some minor scuffs and caustic damage, but nothing major. I even went through it's papers and noticed it was barely 2 weeks old!
I guess xeno-hunting pays well, might have to look into it sometime.
The Acidik brought me to a station for outfitting, where I also got a paintjob (the Alexis issued Azure of course!) and got the minor damages fixed.
I then took it out for it's maiden voyage, or atleast with me as it's new owner, and boy does it fly!
It's so much more nimble and has tons more firepower compared to my Viper!
After handing out a few punishments here and there, I cleared my mind and decided to apologize in Concourse. I realized I may have responded too aggressively... I- uh..
... It's just that I feel pushed back into a corner with recent events in the squadron, being held in a chokehold by Hivemind made me feel like I'm back at the company.
Anyway... After a short while, the biggest part of the messages that Mal managed to decrypt got shared. Apparently AC is giving us one of five choices to make, all with their own consequences. I didn't like it very much, but one of them was that the squadron hands over me and Aurora Adair to them.
I still have no clue why and I have to admit I was shocked at first. I truly have no idea what got me on their radar.
Jaiden argued that maybe saving Aurora ruined a plan of them and wanted retribution.
Either way, I thought - and still think - it was the best choice. It at least gives us a chance to infiltrate and do damage to Hivemind. If we're still alive by them at least.
At first, of course, nobody was in favor. I tried to convince everyone in Concourse why I thought it was the best option... But it quickly got into an argument with Jaiden... Again... Always Jaiden...
I may have given him a hard time again, but I like how convinced he is and doesn't budge, I've got to give him that. So anyway, I decided to apologize to Jaiden. I did try to lure him out a bit, though... I called him out for personally not wanting to get me into danger, because you know, he likes me... But he never gave in, such a bore!
I was getting done for the day, when I suddenly see another message in Concourse. Lo and behold! Jaiden gave it a thought and now agrees with me in that the option to send me and Aurora off is the best option we've got.
First of all, I don't even know what to think... I mean, it was my idea. But I never really met Aurora... I saved her, but she was unconscious and our paths never crossed after that.
I'm super stoked that I may get to meet her, though! Reading up on her history, reading her public logs and hearing about her from squadron members, I kind of look up to her.. So it'd be totes awesome if I got to meet her personally and able to speak this time!
On the other hand, I'm also super nervous for meeting her... Oh, and also because her life is partly in my hands...
The fact that we might be killed on sight once we're at wherever Hivemind wants us - that's scary too of course...
I guess that's all for now.. Hopefully this isn't my last log I'll ever make...
Alexis out.
