New Year, New Adventure

Jameson Memorial, Shinrarta Dezhra - 3 JAN 3305
We've been here before. Weeks of fighting the Thargoids, losing a few Federal Dropships and tons of equipment and engineered parts. Dropping millions on replacements. I'm clearly not a combat pilot. I tried my hand at some wartime assaults on megaships (painful amount of missiles to deal with), and did a lot of courier and hunting missions for minor Federation factions, but all in all I come back to the same thing... Search and Rescue.

I'm working on a new search and rescue setup for the An Lacht Siuil.  Need a lot of materials to get beam lasers that boost shields so I'm going back to my life of wandering and scanning in the meantime. The new FSS update to the ship OS has made finding lost ships so much easier that it's time I start saving people before they eject in a pod. Maybe then I can work on my terrible combat piloting too...

Mostly need Peculiar Shield Frequency Data. Otherwise everything else can be found on wreckage.

Lave Station, Lave - 4 JAN 3305
I spent some time in Wuli aboard the Rescue Ship just outside Behnken Gateway. There's too many stations under attack to support properly as a solo pilot, but I did what I could there. After so much heat damage and dying citizens I had to call it quits and head back to the Founder's World to recenter myself.

Oddly enough, back in Shinrarta I found a Dark Wheel pilot who'd run out of fuel just 10 Mm from the station. That was quite a surprise considering they're supposed to be a dark organization that doesn't announce its existence. I got them some fuel and they took off. Since they were on my mind, I pulled up a codex entry on them, and the rabbit hole it took me on brought me back to Raxxla... That treasure planet haunting everyone the last 200 years or so.

For those that don't know, and perhaps to note down exactly what I'm doing thinking about this expedition while DWE2 is underway, Raxxla is a fabled planet with portals that lead to other Universes. Far fetched, really, but there's some credible (or incredible depending how you feel about "Commanders" from before the FSD) stories talking about a world that could send you to another Galaxy (a little more believable than Interuniversal travel). Story goes that at one point it had shown up in Lave as the first planet's moon. Apparently this world can move, it has a set of five structures on both poles and these somehow push it through Witchspace to a new location. The story also goes that the creatures that made Raxxla, and the gateways it holds, invented Witchspace and the technology we use in FSDs.

Now if there is any truth to this, there was another note that suggests at one point Raxxla was in a system near Lave. A man named Ben Ryder around 3125 lived in Lave and showed someone the way to the gateway. The story I saw describes this as,
fly around clockwise around Lave system to Tionisla. The trip had to be not less than 7 to 9 jumps before entering the secret system from Tionisla to the hidden system with the gateway.

The gateway itself was located near the last ringed planet where a battle took place against Allied Police force which was trying to get the ring to their use. The gateway has been lost since Dark Wheel hid it in 3126 due a war against Raxxlans.

Of course, the rest of this person's story sounds like a bunch of conspiracy theory lizard people nonsense. But if there is any truth behind the story, it's worth taking a look around Lave and Tionisla. Here's how my thinking goes. At the time we're talking about, travel between systems was difficult. You had to full on leave the influence of a system before jumping and even then it was at 7 Ly at a time. If we follow the flight path described (clockwise out of Lave) we'll be doing nothing of much use, but it might give us some insight into what was happening then.

Lave to Tionisla.
Search systems within 0 and 63 Ly of Tionisla, with about seven to nine jumps of up to 7 Ly at a time.

The assumption is, though, that Raxxla has been moved. But maybe The Dark Wheel of 3125 left some clue as to where.

To start I took some time to explore Lave and had a drink at The Orange Sidewinder. Met some other treasure hunters where I got some of this lore, but ultimately nothing in Lave sounds like a planet with gateways to other galaxies. I did pick up some strange noises on my way out though.

Apologies for the camera quality, audio/video recording isn't my forte.
