Nearly time for the biggest purchase of my career

I have been working assiduously for months now, terrorising pirate communities for credits. Massacre missions untold have been completed, credits have fountained into my account and my reputation rises to previously-unknown heights. All this for the cost of my own, my very own, fleet carrier.I'm still a little way off; I could comfortably afford to buy one now and outfit it with...well, most of what I need. But then I'd need funds to run it, fill its tritium silos, transfer my fleet to its vast interior, set aside funds sufficient for months of running costs.
There's still almost a complete billion to go, but bounty work is continuous and it will be a mater of a few weeks at most.
And then - then she will be mine, and we will spring off to parts unknown, to can for undiscovered worlds and the bizarre life that can sometimes be found.
Will it all be worth it? Will I spend a few glorious months exploring the outer realms of the galaxy in my own capital ship, only then to run out of funds and have to decomission my greatest prize? Or will this be the start of marvellous discovery?
Only time will tell.
