Cat's Paw Nebula Journey [7] - strange tussock
31 Jan 2022Rock'n'roller
Nothing unusual yet happened during this expedition in terms of biological samples diversity. I collected a tonne of bacterias, tussocks, bushes, and other weeds.
However, after a few dead systems with massive lava-rock planets, I jumped to a system with a pretty cold star as for M-Class. I quickly looked at the scan results which seem to be the same uninteresting and even pull my hand to the jump-button on the controller.
Somehow, a yellow-green planet that was first in the sequence drew my attention. Only now do I spot a thin layer of 100% argon atmosphere on it. The additional scan showed the existence of biological activity on the surface. Looks like I am too tired now after this hard day and I need to take a rest.
I routed my ship to this planet and planned just to land somewhere to take a nap.
Approaching the surface I noticed a huge crater on the surface - 30km depth and more than 300km diameter. What the hell happened here?
On the orbital height, I sent exobiological probes to the planet and recline back to the armchair waiting for results.
Results showed that this crater has signs of a tussock example which wasn't present anywhere else on the planet. So I initiated the landing sequence. At about 1km height I start recognizing big colonies of the strange bush-like forms. But the computer told me it's a tussock type - usual thin small leaf grass. But this wasn't looking like this.
I landed my ship near one colony and disembarked. This "tussock" is VERY unusual! I collected this sample very carefully and I bet this will cost a fortune for me.
I decided to collect the other 3 samples first thing in the morning because I am falling asleep.
