Cat's Paw Nebula Journey [9] - notable stellar phenomenon

05 Feb 2022Rock'n'roller
A couple of days have gone by since I set nav comp to the way-back home route.
This is surprising how different could same (at first glance) route in space. So far I have not met a single system I was before on the same route.

I found many unscanned systems already, a couple of planets with 6+ biological types on each. I even found one with 8! types.

Routine was interrupted by some new alert from the navcom once I jumped to a new star system.
"What is that now?"
DSS scanner completed nearest space analysis and found a strange signal from the very close to the star orbit. Computer named this as a notable stellar phenomenon. Threat analysis reported 0 value, so I headed ship there.

AMAZING BEAUTY opened before my eyes once I jumped out from the supercruise mode. The unnatural color of the cloud-like materie floating around was beautiful and unexpected.

I found that clouds are not only beautiful but have some strange signals inside. I dived into the cloud and after a few moments, strange star-shaped crystals appeared right before my ship. AI emergency stopped the ship causing Alba to fly forward near me and land exactly at the front canopy. She didn't look happy at all.

Checking surroundings I saw another strange form resembling a live organism was hanging nearby. the further scan showed this is just a "rock" but it's hardly believable considering the amount of such same-shape "rocks" around. But my ship is unable to scan this deeper.

I added a special note to the nav comp and moved the ship out of the cloud for the further jump.
