First Day Proper

That was such a dull yet full day, but I have to say so far I'm satisfied. When I first pulled into Stephens Enterprise, I did feel a wave of homesickness. The Ocellus station (though not exactly the same as Gehry), the rocky high metal world it was orbiting, the sights, sounds and smell of station work after I disembarked... it sort of overwhelmed me a bit and made me think of home.
But I told myself this is what I wanted for so long, so I pushed those thoughts and feelings back into my head. I wasn't going to let a bit of nostalgia set me back.
After transferring the data packets over for the job and getting paid, I went looking for some more work. I picked out a few data ferrying and cargo delivery jobs, and got going after the cargo loaded up on my ship, though not before a cargo agent remarked on my apparent lack of experience. I went flush immediately like some stupid greenhorn. I really need to learn to keep my bravado up, more than one vet has told me about how unforgiving the galaxy can be, so I really need to be on my toes more.
The rest of the day went uneventfully; I spent most of the time in the cockpit practicing my don't-mess-with-me face. I'm not quite sure I nailed it yet, but since no one else made a similar comment like THAT guy, maybe it worked?
I didn't make that much at the end of the day, though it's better than fixing busted FSDs back home, but not by a lot. I realised that the better paying jobs require a ship better than what I've got. Maybe it's a bit early to think about getting a new ship, but I can see how a bigger ship can really accelerate your earnings. Need to make more credits!
