Cubeo's Gift

Cubeo's Gift. That's right, that's what the new ship is called. Stumbling onto Cubeo has been good for me, and this ship is the embodiment of it, so why not call it that?
The Type-6 Transporter is much bigger and so so spacious. Even within the cockpit, the huge canopy just towers over me. It's like some kind of solar farm housing I see in some agriculture systems.
Then again everything is bigger than a Sidewinder, so I guess I am stating the obvious.
Other than the vastly increased cargo space (ten times the space!), one big difference is in the jump range, both in one jump as well as the total range. Thanks to Mr. Vadamee's generosity, I managed (with Mr Miller's help) to get this fitted with an A-rated FSD. With an unladen single jump range of 29 LY and 200 LY in total range, getting to trading places is faster and easier now. And being able to have more jump means being able to expand the list of trading jobs I can do. Also less likely to having scary low fuel surprises like the one I had.
I took her out for a shakedown yesterday, which went well. After that I did a few minor trades, and today tried out a more lucrative opportunity in the Jeterait system. Having ten times the cargo space was just amazing on the profit per run. While it took more time to handle the increased cargo load at the station, I still made more per time spent compared to being in New Prospect.
With more credits, I can start thinking about what else I can do. One thing I've realised after my lucky breaks is that I can't rely on them forever. I got here thanks to them, but I must find a way to keep on going if they were ever to disappear. So even if Mr Vadamee makes good on his word and relocates family to Cubeo III, I have to make sure they can stay there without any further help. This is just the beginning, I think.
But it is a very good beginning. I hope I can keep it going and growing.
