T Tauri War Journal: Day Two

The second day of the war at T Tauri really underscored public opinion on Aegis's stunt in the system. Never before have I seen such a large conglomeration of ragtag anarchists, freelancers, pirates, conspiracy theorists, and freedom fighters assembled in one asteroid. Everyone was friendly enough, if scattered on their motivations. They'd fit right in back home in Grebegus. Point is, anyone in it to stick it to the man for CRs was signing up with Taurus, who at time of log are offering over a hundred million credits to the upper echelons of fighters.

The fighting at Makuto Drilling Site was just as heavy on troop numbers as yesterday at Lagrange Dredging Station, but the fighting went a lot smoother. After initially taking the field with overwhelming fire and rocketry, each enemy reinforcement dropship would be overwhelmed by intersecting lines of fire. We'd reload and move back into the center of the base to resupply and recharge before watching for the next enemy dropship, repeating this process until the day was ours. I've gained a newfound appreciation for my extended-mag Karma P-15 for taking hostiles out once their shields are down without resorting to my explosives. I may be using cheaper grade equipment, but I'm a more resourceful fighter when it gets down to it.

On the bigger scale, I do feel this is a strange moment where the political underdog and newcomer is "winning" and getting the choicest of prizes for a change. Usually outlaws and anarchists don't win so big. Perhaps we should just enjoy the moment and furor of victory?
