T Tauri War Journal: Days Three & Four
14 Nov 2021Streya Jormagdnir
Day 3 of the T Tauri War brought more desperate fighting from the Aegis side as the margins for victory narrowed in favor of Taurus Mining Ventures. Whereas before many CMDRs on the Aegis side were shy about joining the fray on terra firma, today there was quite a bit more resistance on the ground. What was supposed to be a routine sweep-up of Makuto Drilling Site became a much more fevered struggle when I ran into one CMDR Arsen Cross. We exchanged some fire, which I became frustrated at when once again confronted with Grade 5 weapons being aimed my way. Not to be deterred, I fought ferociously with my lower grade gear. We eventually tired out and exchanged pleasantries rather than weapons fire, before teaming up on the Taurus side to maximize our profits (the winning side is still the winning side, and my how that money pot has grown!). We took his FDL down and wiped the surface clean for a few heats of battle until the hours were long and eyes grew heavy.
I had never gotten to ride in a Fer-de-Lance before, but since riding in one I wonder why Frontline doesn't use them more? This war was on such a scale that I wouldn't be surprised to see tanks on the ground in a year's time. The wars have only gotten more heated, more pitched, and the stakes ever higher. But maybe such things as tanks are not needed; Taurus claimed all strategic goals met by this fourth day of the war. I've seen ground wars end in a few days by my own intervention, but only in backwater systems where whole carriers and battalions were not being deployed. Happy with the nearly half-billion I've earned so far, I wonder if it's worth continuing until next Thursday when the legal end of the war will come? Are we all just too tired? I will stay tuned to the GalNet as all CMDRs are, but until then hopefully these logs provide some insight on what happened in the T Tauri system in mid November 3307.
CMDR Streya Jormagdnir, calling this war basically over and out. o7
