November 22, 3307. I am currently docked at CB-8 Tamandua, The long trek here has had some interesting moments. I skipped a couple stations, as I had said in my last log, and made a couple hundred jump trip though the black. During that trip I came out of hyperspace in a binary system AND FLEW RIGHT TROUGH A GOD DAMNED STAR! I should be dead, hell beyond dead, there shouldn't be a trace of me left. As I started dropping from hyperspace and my dethrottle was about to kick in I saw it, a massive white ball of gaseous fire and death and it came at me with incredible speed. I knew that was it, I was about to die, and hilariously enough my biggest regret in that moment was that the data I had on board or all the newly discovered systems would be lost. An explorer to the end I suppose. But then I went right through it and came out on the other side, I was frozen in shock, until the ship's alarm went off telling me I was over heating (well no shit, I just flew straight through a ruttin' star!). I slammed the throttle forward and got to a VERY safe distance. My AFMU was worth every credit I paid for it that day. I still don't know how the hell I survived that, but I know this, every time I enter a system now I'm ready to hit the throttle and drop a heat sink. The other highlight of this leg of my trip was a biological discovery in one of the systems I came across. My FSS picked up a "notable stellar phenomena" so I of course went to investigate. What I found was a "field" of crystalline formations, like little black stars. I of course had seen these before on the cortex but never in person and I had certainly never discovered any of my own. It was a surreal experience and brought some much needed peace after the almost certain death I had just experienced.
I eventually made it to CB-25 and after turning in my data to Universal Cartographics I was awarded the explorer rank of elite by the Pilot's Federation. My exploration days are far from over but I decided I was ready to get back to the bubble for a bit so I started to jump my way back. I jumped more or less along the Colonia Bridge until CB-18, having skipped a couple, and then I dead headed straight to CB-8, a good 2400 light year trip. Now that I have my founder's world permit I have a course laid in for Shinrarta Dezhra, I'm heading home, to Jameson Memorial.
