Black Box trouble

In an attempt to get allied with the Alioth Independents to gain access to the Alioth system, I docked at Macdonald Settlement / Alcor and took on two black-box recovery missions.The first one went to LHS 2789, and the first scanning of the nav beacon directed me to planet B 2 a. However, a black box was nowhere to be found there. The Barr Relay settlement opened flak fire as soon as I approached, so I returned to the nav beacon and scanned it again. This time it pointed me to a place somewhere in deep space. The black box was drifting in a cloud of debris.
I continued directly to the 78 Ursae Majoris system to recover the black box for the second mission; this time finding the spot was unproblematic, however right after exiting witchspace I ran into one Rodney Stillwater (piloting an Anaconda) who also was after the black box. He interdicted me but regretted it shortly afterwards, also thanks to police presence in the area.
Not long after that, I was again interdicted by someone called Esther. Her Anaconda's weapons may have been a match for my Ezekiel 25-17's shields, but her thrusters were none to mine.
After the 2nd black box was recovered, I returned to Alcor system. Esther had followed me into the system but her second interdiction went about the same as the first one.
