Greetings citizens of the Empire, and commanders from all across the bubble. The thargoid war rages on, and even though our commanders are mounting an impressive resistance, our victory is still not yet assured. At Princess Aisling’s recommendation, the Empire is collaborating with the other powers to a limited degree to ensure that humanity can push back the thargoid menace, but this is not enough. In order to ensure the eternal continuity of the empire and the human race as a whole, a scientific endeavor shall be undertaken to test the viability of extragalactic travel. Supercruising beyond the ends of the galaxy is not a new concept, and it has been done before many times past Beagle Point, but this endeavor will take a human ship further from the geographic center of our galaxy than any commander has ever truly done before. The requisitioned imperial fleet carrier “LLV Fishburn’s Ferry HHF-0HB '' will be transporting a full crew to Sepositus beacon, the furthest system from the galactic core currently reachable. Once there, commander Jack “Ironsnail” Fishburn will be boarding the Cutter LLV Conatus and begin supercruising beyond the galactic limits. With the cutter filled to the brim with fuel tanks, and stripped of all unnecessary internals, it is expected to exceed 100 lightyears of distance from the galactic edge. Scientific studies of the effects of extragalactic background radiation will be undertaken, and the wear and tear on the ship’s paintwork and components will be analyzed. If the experiment yields positive results, this may pave the way for further scientific leaps in the field of extragalactic travel, and the universe may open up more than ever before.
The LLV FISHBURN’S FERRY HHF-0HB is expected to depart MARCH 11, 3309. All who wish to be a part of this scientific adventure, and the sightseeing that will be possible along the route, must board the carrier by then, in the Beta Sculptoris system.
