Well, looks like the Shadow President is playing the bleeding heart card again. Crying out for help for those poor, helpless independent factions. Pfft.I've got no time for this "duty of responsibility" BS. These systems knew the risks of going it alone and now they want the Federation to come to their rescue? How convenient.
As for this threat moving closer each day? So what? It's not like it affects the systems I operate in.
And don't get me started on the comparison to the Empire. Sure, they might be bastards, but at least they know how to protect their own. The Federation's got their priorities all wrong if they're wasting resources on saving their enemies.
I've got a better idea, let the Thargoids take care of these independent factions. Maybe it'll finally knock some sense into them to join up with a real power. Or better yet, they'll be so weakened that I can step in and pick up the pieces. Win-win.
