Busy, busy, busy

I got back from the black a month ago. I had a billion credits, and intended to spend them all.
It took 3 weeks to blow the cash...mostly on ships, parts, and insurance payments.
But when I was done I had a pretty cool collection of ships. My Viper racer is pretty quick, but I need to get an invite to Professor Palin before I can top-out the drag drives. But damn! That thing hauls ass. It cruises at 650ms!

Along the way I also went back and tried a few of the ships that I had skipped in the early days. In the process I discovered a few outstanding models.
The Eagle is a POS, but the IMPERIAL EAGLE is tits. At least it is once you pour some $$ into it and add a set of 3A Enhanced thrusters (which cost 5mil...ship only costs 100k). But once you engineer the IE properly, it is the perfect dogfighter. My only complaint is that it simply won't deliver enough damage to kill the larger ships by itself.

The Fer De Lance has proven to be the ultimate fighting machine. I tweaked mine, added drag drives and engineered the power distributor to be weapons-focused, and it is a bad-ass ship now. It cruises at 450, and boosts to almost 600, and can cook a Viper to death in about ten seconds. I have taken on more than a dozen Anacondas with my Lance. It helps that I engineered my seeker missile racks for high capacity so I now go afield with 60 guided missiles.

Ships that sucked: Eagle, Vulture, Crusader,

So I figure I'll piddle about in the bubble for a few months before I get the call of the wild and head back out into the black. Maybe I'll join an expedition...or just traverse the galaxy east to west. Dunno. Most likely I'll just get a feeling one day, grab my Phantom from Jameson, and head out.
Do you like it?
