The Hell of Vogula

21 Jan 2024HeaddyDaddy
Nothing could have prepared me for what I encountered during my time in the Battle for Vogula. Especially not the quite entry into the system. My mission was to help, so I've looked for someone that required help. The Zhu Survey Stations was under attack so I've figured they could use my guns for hire. I set a straight course and started up my drives to get me there asap but I didn't make it very far.

A few minutes into the journey I got interdicted. But it was a very different experience that getting interdicted by pirates. My displays started to flicker and showing nonsense data. Parts of my ship seemed to turn off and I had seemingly no chance to evade the interdiction. So I#ve submitted and got dragged bafore 4 or 5 thargoid ships that didn't wait long to attack. Immediately being under heavy fire I've pulled up my guns and started to return fire. If not for the two AX pilots entering the battle, I would not have lived to tell the tale. It was a close shave espacially with two additional thargoid ships joining the battle but in thje end we remained victorious.

With roughly 20% hull integrity I've jumped back into hyperspace and continued my journey towards Zhu Survey but something kept chewing at my hull. I've heard about the tharghoids caustic weapons but I've never seen them in action. Now, they seemed to be my demise. With the station coming closer and closer, my hull integrity depleted rapidly. With 7 % left it seemed like I couldn't outrun my death.

This was when I remembered something I had overheared in some Bar. Some old dude told his friend that you could get rid of that caustic glibber on your ship. And with my 4 Guardian Gauss Canons, heat was something I had plenty of. So I dropped from hyperspace and started fireing away and sure enough the issue got burned away.

A few minutes later I boosted through the attacking thargoid front and docked at the station. Let's find out what they are willing to pay for my help and if anyone else came to help them in their distress.
