You Can't Take The Sky From Me

05 Oct 2016ParkTyGreen
I was able to leave the infirmary this morning, and was told to go to the briefing room and where it was. We got mission details, we were to bring reinforcements to a battle taking place off world, and of course were the reinforcements. The one thing I wasn't too happy about was that we'd have to board at least one of the ships to gain information on their military movements. That's assuming we're around to do it. Anyways, I was sitting in the FNS Blue Horizons when I got a holotab message telling me who my wingmen were, we were leaving in three minutes. I set up all the necessary ship systems, did flight checks, and then set off out of the hangar. I was soon joined by my wingmen, two Pythons.
"Greetings Commander ParkTyGreen, my name is Commander Douglas, and on your starboard is Commander Ravidyouron."
"Thank you, it's a pleasure flying with you."
"Same here. It's time to help win this fight."
We all engaged FSD and set off.
The ship began shaking again as I was passing through the layers of the atmosphere, the blue band growing fainter and fainter.
Soon we dropped out at the Conflict Zone, high intensity.
Immediately I began receiving fire.
I did a quick banking turn and aimed towards an anaconda.
After I shot a few rounds at it the massive ship began turning fast towards me, so I quickly punched lateral thrust for a few seconds and came up behind it. I kept shooting until its shields were down.
I was receiving heavy fire from port so I abandoned target and began evasive manoeuvres.
The g-forces were intense, to the point of nearly blacking out, but I'd experienced worse.
I was dodging fire and destroying ships left and right, shrapnel exploding outwards everywhere like deadly confetti.
Shields 80%
70% 71%
50%
I couldn't fend off so many targets, and my allies and wingmen were all preoccupied with the same problem too, we were outnumbered.
The fight was hopeless.
Just as one of my wingmen neared 50% hull, all the fighting ceased for a second.
"Capital class signature detected. Massive frame shift surge."
It was a Federal Farragut.
Just as the massive city sized ship dropped out it began firing at the enemy ships.
Shrapnel was flying everywhere, explosions all around the ship were tearing away at the shields.
After nearly all enemy ships had been destroyed, one remained. The anaconda I had been shooting at. It's engines were disabled, and that meant only one thing.
"Get ready to board the anaconda." Said one of my wingmates.
I was unfortunately on the boarding party, so I began docking preparations with the anaconda.
I aligned the docking ports and clamped to the side of the massive ship.
I heard a bang, other boarding parties were entering through the open fighter bay.
I made my way to the docking port and entered the anaconda cautiously. I had a dual focus pulse pistol, not much but at least something. I walked around the ship, unnervingly silent, it was eerie. I rounded a corner and found myself in what appeared to be a storage room. I rummaged through storage compartments until I found something odd. It was some sort of golden metallic object, with ornate engravings in it. I was examining it when I heard the door slide open.
"We've got it. We know their plans. It's time to leave."

So I made my way back to the ship, went up the the bridge and disengaged.
I just got back to Crick city after getting my pay and now am writing this. I still want to know what the object I found is, so I'll do some research next morning. I'll need some rest, so now I must say...

This is Commander Parkty Green,
Signing off.
