Driven Out, Nov 10, 3301

I messed up.Killing "XDarkPhoenix" apparently pissed off some locals. Apparently, some rando from Lave showing up and murdering an Imp, no matter how many people he’d killed, had not gone over so well. Especially since he was allegedly a local hero of some sort.
So, while I was reading the latest news while in my ship, I received an anonymous voice comms invite.
I accepted.
"Get out of the station now."
Voice comms were cut directly after.
The person sounded as if they had a voice modifier.
"Great. Another day to stare death straight in the face... Or to receive something." I thought to myself
"Probably the Former"
I disengaged from the station.
Outside the station, the unforgettable sight of a Viper came into view.
With a certain Emblem...
I immediately sent a voice comms.
"Holy shit, what, what the hell?" I exclaimed
"Voice comms connected" said the computer.
"SCOTT! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!" I excitedly yelled
"Who the hell is Scott?"
It was a female voice
"And who are you?" I asked
"The one who is to explain s-"
"Why are you in my dead friend's ship?" I spat
"Found this ship drifting through a ring system. Took it, looked perfectly good." She jeered
"And yes, I jettisoned your friend's body once I was at the helm"
I did full reverse thrust.
"Yes, and I am fine with blasting you into the void right now"
"Ha. He *Cough* ha ha"
"You? In a Viper?"
"Not me"
Two Imperial Clippers pulled up beside the small craft, full lights engaged.
I sheilded my eyes with my arm, but I had two swirling white images imprinted on my retina
I ran.
Mazes of Multi-Cannon fire and Streaks of Lasers screaming past my cockpit.
The sound of the shields being pecked away brings a sting down my spine every time I hear the impact.
"20% Sheilds, 15% Sheilds, 10% Sheilds 5-"
"I am fully aware of the Sheilds!" I yelled
"Idiot"
Damn external comms!
I slammed the holo control gloves on the close icon.
"Sheilds offline"
One bullet.
One cringe inducing sound.
One destroyed life support.
I scrambled for my helmet as the air was drained from the air vents
The snapped it on just as the full force of the air rushing out made my bottlecap fly out of the compartment.
Least of my worries.
I slammed the touchpad for FSD.
Mass lock factor of 24
"Shit!" I yelled
I pushed the key on the throttle stick to boost.
A massive explosion thrust me forward
Once I came back to my senses a second later, I checked the damage report.
Boost fuel lines were completely destroyed.
But engines were fine, luckily.
The FSD had charged.
There that feeling goes again.
After all that time being in the Pilot's Federation
I will never get used to it.
I've heard stories, of people getting trapped in 'Hyperspace' due to FSD malfunctions
I always keep that in mind before making a jump. Thinking to myself that I may be my last.
Although... That incident was centuries ago. No accidents have happened since.
Also, centuries of advancement, surely it wouldn't really happen.
My whole body shook as the ship blast back into reality, the star streaking into view like a burning gem
After that, I jumped again.
And again.
Once at the fifth system, I went to dock.
On the way to the station, I checked the damage report further
No more damage than what I had before I jumped.
Personal damage, well, I didn't know.
I looked back at the canopy and quickly jerked the stick to do a spiral.
The whole ship creaks and shakes violently due to the gravity of the planet combined with the G-Forces
I see the wing fin vanish from the damage report hologram.
"Wait..."
I look closer at the damage report
The wing appears to be torn apart, like a beach after a torrent of people stomp all over it's pristine surface
... At least that is what happened on New America, near the massive turquoise ocean.
Before I look up at the glass, I hear a faint ringing.
Alarms.
I jerk my head up.
I am about to plummet straight into Gleise 9209 B's atmosphere.
I didn't even notice the drop out of supercruise due to the lack of air
"You could've informed me that I was about to crash into a planet!" I say
"I appears that you do not want me to inform you of any current situation."
"Useless"
I pull the stick back quickly.
5 minutes of Oxygen.
My arm starts warming up
I look down and see that the metallic part of the seat is red hot.
I pull my hand away.
I looked back up, and just as I did, red flames engulfed my view.
Sound returned to the ship as the glass shattered and methane gas filled the cockpit.
When the sound is back, I hear the screaming of the wind slamming against the ship's hull
I frantically tapped the supercruise control, but my attempt was futile.
I realised something.
"The broken fuel lines"
I disabled the safety on the boost, and engaged.
The resulting explosion thrust me forward, and my groin struck the display on the front of the seat.
I yelped in pain.
When I looked up, I was speechless.
"My stupid idea worked!"
I was in supercruise, heading away from the planet.
A minute later, I docked at the station.
Feeling like a lucky bastard. (And a bit stupid)
For future reference, yes, the bottlecap is still here.
Somehow.
This is Commander ParkTy Green, signing off.
