As I was heading to the docking bay to load up for my next long trip on my hunt for Raxxla, I was stopped by one of our engineers. Going over my Heimdall designs during construction of the first model, he realized that it wouldn't take much to tweak some of the ideas utilized in it. Simulated results are showing a potential increase in shield effectiveness nearly equivalent to the X4, despite lack of chassis-based amplification. He also demonstrated how the engines could be adjusted to be just as powerful. The simulated result was actually even slightly faster, capable of holding a sustained boost. It apparently never had to stop. On top of this, it could even potentially achieve a jump range of 35 LY, field limpets, and gain over 100 tons of cargo space.I didn't realize I had such a pure genius in my employ. I gave him the green light for the changes and have put my excursion on pause. I will test this first model myself. If it performs anything like the simulations indicate, Mr. Maximillian Connors will be promoted to Head of R&D.
I am not telling him this yet.
