Ok.... let's jump

Yeah this is way long in coming. I hate logs, like diaries. (static)

Stupid talking to a computer like this.

Ok, even though you're an inanimate piece of data, they said I have to introduce myself and keep this stupid record.

Ugh. Here it goes...

My name is A1isone, and I'm a ship CMDR. ...duh why else would I have to....

No, it's not Alison, and I'm a dude, not that it should matter
ALL I  SON A is the phonetic breakdown.

I'm a Paladin, worked hard to become one too. Good people, help the new pilots, several of whom probably wouldn't even make Dangerous without them. I know I wouldn't of made it this far without their guidance.

I'm of House Phoenicis. My home dock is Filipchenko Hub *secure blur's that info* Only for those that have access....

I'm a bit... eccentric even among my own kind here. Tend to start things and then get distracted. Eh, oh well, at least it's good company and they have a SHIT TON of crayons and oH.

Anyway, I'm refitting now, taking the Praxium Snek out on a journey again. Back to my explorer roots. Catching up to the Consortium Convoy that I helped set up. Which is why they say I have to keep a record. In case it happens again...

It..

Shit I guess I have to talk about that too, huh?

Ok, So I was on the convoy, we had just hit Waypoint 2. We have a very relaxed schedule, all the way to Colonia, plenty of time to get distracted by shiney's and such. and...

I met a girl.

I know, cliche, blah blah blah. All bad-luck stories start off like that.

But yeah, and she wanted to go to Sag A*
Of course she was willing to pay the normal going rate, and all that time in the Void with such a pretty lady....
Yeah I took the job. Figured if I pulled a few all-nighters I could have her there, sweep her off her feet using the immaculate beauty of the Core, and be back by Waypoint 3 or 4 at the latest. I mean, the guys would understand, I have holo's....

Until we hit the Neutron...
I'm an experienced Explorer, almost Elite.
I know all about the dangers of Neutron Star Boosts, and I've heard all of the stories about how it's "unnatural" to rev up your FSD like that blah blah blah.

I've done it a thousand times at least... but it's never been like that before.

We had just made it about 2/3's of the way and I was tipping into the stream to scoop up some of that magic go-go juice when...

Sigh...

Something went wrong. I was nowhere NEAR the exclusion zone, had to be kilo's away man, but we dropped into real space... And right into the stream.

Between the heat, magnetism, and raw whatthefuckever isin those things, the Ship rocked like a boat in terrestrial storm. It's like fighting 4 eagles at once, everything was overloading, every module damaged.
I fought and bucked like a bronco for an hour before I figured out there was no way I could ever make it out of that stream, even the edge in witchspace is like, forever, in real space. So I shed my few tears for my home, put the 'Song of Durin' over the PA, and ran to the passenger lounge.

Now, we had been getting along famously for the short time we had been on our way to the Core. Her name was Almera, an Imperial beauty. Don't ask me why she was out that far or why she wanted to get to the core, cause I didn't ask. I let people have their past, and prefer it that way. Thankfully I was haulin' some Mugs and Centauri Gin to Colonia anyway, and I might've sampled a container. I know, I know, bad form, super unprofessional. But she was hot, man.   Blue hair, eyes that glowed purple in the light of a Neutron star on the observation deck... Sigh.

Anyway, I ran back, grabbed her hand. She didn't argue, obviously tipped off by the funeral dirge music playing all over the ship, as we ran towards the escape pods.

You could fit two people into one pod, but even I wasn't that desperate. I had sprung for the good Imperial pods - non of that federation crap - so I knew they'd be comfortable and hold together. I set her in the acceleration couch and showed her where the controls were. These pods are also equipped with hibernation modules. My guess is that there's no telling where or when you'll end up, so sometimes it's best to sleep and be awakened by whomever finds you then to spend the whole time worrying. I slipped into my pod, set the distress beacon, and the hibernation pod up.

Then I remembered...
The crew.

Such an ass! I hadn't even checked on them. I mean, they're spacers, so they should know what to do, but what a crappy captain of me. I commed them and of course they were already off-ship, wondering wtf I was still doing in there. Nicholas, and Laura, what good eggs they are. I thought they would've taken the escape pods, but somehow they had launched the fighters, using a combination of the ships' weapons fire (low intensity beams) and the fighter's shields to push themselves away from the stream. Good eggs.

Laura had worked out the event horizon and fed the nav data to the ships computer so her and Nick could swoop us up when we launched.

I put her in command of the whole operation, and set up in Hibro. I mean, if this didn't work, I didn't want to be awake for the Coup De Grace anyway.

When I woke up, it was back at that planetary station in Lagoon Sector. Apparently they'd lucked out (serious good luck - fighters have no FSD nor planetary jets) and a random explorer had happened to be using the Neutron Highway the same way we were plotted to.

Nice fella in a Cutter picked us up, towed what he could salvage of the Snek after the jets were done with her (not much) and took us to Lagoon.

Of course I paid him for his trouble, only 20 mil, but he saved us so, yeah.

Problem is... we lost Almera.

Nick couldn't even remember her, Laura reported that only one of the pods had come out of the Jets, and sensor's wouldn't pick up something that small in the turbulence. Sure enough one of the pods is missing (cheap really) so I know I didn't just dream her up but....

Yeah, so anyway, we got fixed up. Thankfully the data was saved, the computer core wasn't harmed in the explosion. They salvaged what they could and helped me rebuild our Praxium Snek.

I won't lie, I cried a bit. Whatever, this ship is the result of years of hard work and is a home to all of us when were away from Filipchenko. That's when they ordered me to start keeping logs, y'know, to work through this all.

Which leads us to now. After working with some Engineers (Shady lot) we're refit and ready to depart. Gotta catch up with the Convoy. Won't lie though, I'm a bit shy on the Neutron Highway, and I've put in several inquiries in to find anything out about Almera.

Maybe in Colonia...

Anyway, we've got a lot of ground to cover, thanks be to the Flying Spaghetti Monster for that relaxed schedule!

I figure I can pull off Colonia in a few days, for sure I'll catch up with the Convoy before that.

Reminds me of an ancient poem from Terra,

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Anyway, catch you out there, CMDR
