Explorers' Role

We have left the bubble for a month out on an excursion to explore the Eta Carina Nebula. With the ever repeating jump-scan, I can't help but reflect on our actions.

We traverse the galaxy in an unguided effort to discover. To experience something new and undocumented is one of life's gifts. However awe-inspiring the journey, I feel we are missing a key direction. Something imperative to understand our role in affecting the narrative of humanity. Without this, I fear we may run out of time, effort, and ability to find what we need.

We don't even know what we are looking for, or if we should even care. We may find Raxxla and not know it. Blindly missing discoveries all around us cannot be our legacy. If only there was a way to pool our data cmdr-to-cmdr. If we could acquire data from other commanders, we could be more efficient in our efforts, save on time, and maintain our ability to at least refine our search. If our tools were expanded, we wouldn't need breadcrumbs from the super powers or corporations.

Recently, companies have been paying handsomely for exobiology samples. Unfortunately, explorers wont have a say in how the samples will be used. I can only hope they will not be used in creating a new virus, in a direct attempt to end life of any kind.
