Modigi has been liberated

Modigi, the first Imperial system to fall to the Thargoid invasion, has been liberated.Via a combined effort of both Independent, Federal and Imperial pilots the Modigi system has been liberated from Thargoid control. Modigi was the first Imperial system lost to the Thargoid invasion very early into the war.
But the defence strategies have improved since the early stages of the invasion. With the release of the “Sub-Surface Extraction Missile” it became possible to rescue abducted people from the Titans, which hampers the Thargoid’s ability to wage war across all systems invaded by that Titan.
Jaques Monet, the House Salus liaison to Aegis explained its effectiveness:
“Rescuing people from the Titans is a win-win for the war effort. Not only does it save people from the grasp of the aliens, but it also forces the Thargoids to divert resources away from the systems around that Titan. Those resources - according to our analyses - are then used to increase the security of the Titan, and to produce Scythes in an attempt to recapture those that were rescued. Together with sampling Thargoid vessels - which gives us valuable intel on Thargoid armour, and fleet distribution across the front - it is the most effective way to hamper the Thargoid assault on our systems.”
Salus Invicta pilots Helene Valoux and Hecate Rilke were also involved in the battle for Modigi’s freedom, as CMDR Valoux told the News Network:
“Hecate went to the Titan Taranis to rescue people from its bowels, while I spent most of my time in the combat zones in Modigi. I fought alongside lots of fellow Commanders there, from all stripes and colours. It is nice to see Independent, Imperial and even Federal Commanders come together to fight for a common cause. All in all it would not have been possible without the momentous efforts from ReForge Aegis, AXI, DCOH, and the Imperial Xeno Defence.”

Centurion Daedalus Spyke from Lavigny’s Legion also congratulated the Imperial effort to liberate Modigi:
“It is gratifying to see that the combined efforts of the Imperial Xeno Defense forces could rally together to take back the system that represented our first, and really only great loss in this war. I commend every pilot who contributed to the fight on a job well done! Now that we have Modigi back, though, it's not time to rest on our laurels. There are still plenty of systems left to reclaim and now Spires to knock back to the ground.”
While the system is expected to be free of Thargoids within a few hours, House Salus refugee coordinator Amberly Varis has urged caution to refugees from Modigi to return to early:
“While the system might be free of threats, the infrastructure might be destroyed beyond the capacity to support anyone living there for now. But reconstruction of the surface and star ports will commence as soon as the Imperial Navy has confirmed that the system is safe. If you are a civil engineer, or can otherwise help with the reconstruction effort please visit us in the Imperial Refugee Coordination Centres. And for everyone else: please stay put for now until it is safe and practical to return to Modigi.”
