Fifth Logbook Entry... "To the victor go the spoils"
03 Feb 2023Darkbeetle
Hey everyone, it's me CMDR Darkbeetle. So after I wrote the last logbook, for a while I just wandered around doing random stuff in the bubble due to a quiet BGS front for my squadron. I have bought a few ships as well, although none of them had any thought from me before purchase. Hence why I have an A rated unengineered Keelback that I do nothing with. And hauler/sidewinder parked at a prison ship. I quite literally ran out of things to do for a while... or did I?Well, I didn't really do much. Up until a few days before this logbook was supposed to be published. It was really going to be one of the shortest logbooks I've ever written. That was when a channel in my squad discord, specifically #goid-war caught my attention. I had always looked at AX as something I should get back into someday. Back when I did AX in XPBeetle with old AXMCs mounted on, I thought it was fun. Then, Proteus Wave happened and 22460 kinda died, right? So I didn't really go back into AX. Recently however, with the lack of orders for BGS and lack of other things to do, compunded by a slowly dying credit balance, I decided to do something. The news of the enhanced xeno scanner came out, and it got my attention. I felt like I couldn't wait anymore. I was right, as you'll read later.
Checklist: Enhanced AXMCs, Enhanced Xeno-Scanner, Alliance Chieftain, tons of HRPs. All items checked off, and I was left with a measly 50 million credits. Still over 10 rebuys for my new Chieftain, the Thargoid Penetrator, but still worrying as I was going into the frontlines of the war. With that, I headed straight for Desurinbin with CMDR Dripnificent. It was FUN as hell! 4 hours felt like 1, and it was time for me to log off. You know how the frontline solutions guy always says "To the victor go the spoils" when you turn in your combat bonds? Well, I checked my bonds, and I had over 270 million in bonds!!! That alone is worth more than my credit balance at any single point in my career. Turning this in would make me the richest I had ever been, not only in assets but also in credit balance. So I did the logical thing and turned it in. The next day, I recieved some very, very unfortunate news. Remember when I said I couldn't wait anymore? Yes, the Pilots' Federation lowered all the bonds for Thargoid kills! Not by a lot, sure, but by a noticeable amount indeed. I felt lucky that I had caught that last day before bonds were lowered.
For the next few days, I did a lot of AX and in the process delayed this logbook. My apologies! Anyways, it's out now so that's good I guess. My total assets are now valued at just over a billion! #BillionBeetle am I right?!? I hope you enjoyed this, and sorry for the giant blocks of text above. I really couldn't find more places to cut it off. Watch out for the next MUDD monthly, as there *may or may not* be a sequel of Thargoid Crusade in the making! o7 CMDRs, this is Darkbeetle signing off.
