Flying Box

So, in a desperate bid to at least start making some decent money, I went and had a shuffle around in one of the old yards that were still selling reconditioned Type 6 cargo boats. She was a junker and had certainly seen some rough times. The scars showed and it was clear this box had been built to outrun trouble rather than hang around to find out what the trouble was.  The salesman was eyeing up my Cobra III as part ex on this heap of shit, however at the sound of "ready cash no questions asked" his tune changed a bit and we settled on a half decent price.  What he didn't know was that there had been some subtle modifications engineered into this beasty. Maxinard, my friend of the knowledgeable engineering type, had taken one look and had taken me aside, because he's good at that sort of thing, and told me right there and then, "Buy it! This joker has no clue that the FSD is engineered. Hell, he probably couldn't tell his Frame Shift from his Friendship right now!"

With Maxinard's expertise about these things, who was I to argue. Having parked up "The Bucket o' Bolts", I found myself at the outfitters getting the "Dunkey Chunker" as she was now known, suited and booted for some profiteering in the Bubble, making sure that it was running sweet and not going to hand me my ass in a sling at the first encounter with rascals and rapscallions.

A quick lick of paint and the "flying egg box" as Gaspard calls her, is getting the goods to where they need to be and the credits in my pocket where they ought to be.  A mining rig is in my sights as any fool knows that is where the money (and the danger) lies. For now, I will rely on a neutral to cordial relationship with all as I ply my weary way amongst the stars and trying not to planet crash from having too much of a good time the night before.  I need to stop looking at brochures with shiny new craft, its gonna hurt my wallet.
