Is a polite pirate one that asks you stop running before robbing you?

So there we were, mining as usual in the rings of some distant planet, just hanging out with those watching the galactic live stream. Little did I know, that among them, was a no good low down dirty pirate.
He managed to beat me to my home system on LHS 20, and the interdiction was quick and the combat was thorough. We attempted to run as quickly as possible, but it took no time for the pirate known as Commander Butthole Jenkins to destroy our shields and bring us down to 14% health. Of course, when he asked me to stop running, what else could I do? I stopped.
Luckily all he wanted were a few Void Opals. It could have been much worse.
Turns out, the pirate was a pretty nice guy after all, and gave me a good deal to actually buy the rest of my cargo. Not bad considering he could have just shot me one more time and taken his pickings from my corpse.
All in all, it was a profitable day, and an interesting one. Hopefully, next time is more boring. We don't need more pirates.
