[XPD 03.02] Frying my life support!
06 May 2023Final Asgard
Well today was a fun day, that nearly ended in my death. But more on that later.Today I am continuing our mission to get to Colonia. We still have a really long way to go.
To help pass the time, we set a goal of trying to find a really interesting gas giant planet with rings. I managed to find a somewhat interesting one, but the photos were nothing to write home about. But a captain's log, on the other hand...
It is crazy to think that while so many thousands of pilots have been through this system over the past several years, I am still finding a lot of systems that have not been mapped yet. I did take the time to FSS scan a few systems, but I have too many jumps to go to get to Colonia to stop for every system.
I did find one really interesting planet, though. It has a red and/or yellowish green atmosphere, with a gas giant planet close enough to get some amazing views.
And then I got busy chatting with some viewers, when I got a little bit too close to a star's exclusion zone. NEVER DO THAT!
200% heat, major damage everywhere, a panicking pilot, just... If I'm going to spend all this time out here exploring I need to not do stupid stuff like that. Luckily, my power plant and AFMU did not take too much damage, so I was able to recover most things with only burning a few resources. But dang, I need to stop being stupid out here. Help is a long way away.
We had a new guest join our stream tonight, and recommended going to the "Collection of Wonders" located at Skaude AA-A h294. I think this will be the next stop after going to the nebula.
Status Update: 3,673 Ly from home. 18,835 Ly from Colonia.... 16% of the way to our destination.
