Something new on the war front, at last! Things were so stagnating that coming to the galactic center to help Canonn on their latest scanning project was a welcome change of pace.
Apparently, the barnacle matrices grew up into skyscraper-sized pillars and some other structures you can hop around. They're surrounded by Orthruses (Orthrus? Orthri?), so the Federation's credit printer is very busy giving bonds to entrepreneuring groups of pilots. Time to finally test out that Krait with Azimuth shards, I guess.
Good thing I found a kind soul departing with his carrier back to the Bubble in a couple days - it's a long and tiring trip, after all! He seems to be only 60 light-years away - a single hop for my trusty ship.
...I must be honest, Anacondas are very capable but kinda cumbersome for this sort of thing. I made a little sketch here, and maybe an Asp Explorer can fit everything I need, jumping nearly as much.
