Doing The Math

So, despite some sweet FSD upgrades, I'm still gonna need a boost to get to Altum Sagittarii Prime during the Colonia Core Circuit Expedition.Common FSD injection recipes will boost your range by 25%, 50%, or 100%. My jump range right now is around 43 Ly, so this means I can reach distances of about 53-86 Ly using these boosts.
Basic FSD Injection
25% Boost
Final range approx. 53.75 Ly
2x Vanadium
1x Germanium
Standard FSD Injection
50% Boost
Final range approx. 64.5 Ly
1x Vanadium
1x Germanium
1x Cadmium
1x Niobium
Premium FSD Injection
100% Boost
Final range approx. 86 Ly
1x Arsenic
3x Niobium
1x Yttrium
1x Polonium
The trip I'm planning to take only has two jumps that are bigger than 43 Ly. One of them is just barely so. Depending on how full my tank is (or, rather, how not-full it is), the ship might be light enough to do it without a boost. The other jump is a bit shy of 60 Ly though. I'll definitely need help for that one.
So, at a minimum, I'm going to need 2 standard injections to cover the big one for the round trip. To be safe, I should pack 2 basic injections for the smaller jump too.
But then, there's the problem of the last three jumps being all T Tauri stars. No fuel to scoop on those, and my Asp can only get 6-7 jumps out of a full tank. Six non-scoopables in a row, for the round trip, is a little dicey. I could add on a spare tank, but that would reduce my jump range and require the removal of other components I'd rather keep.
The end of the route looks about like this, one-way:
Distance | Star Class
28.46Ly | G
59.53Ly | *T Tauri*
43.90Ly | *T Tauri*
37.18Ly | *T Tauri*
If I go for a couple premium injections instead of the 2 basic ones, I could bypass the second-to-last jump (using one long, 81.08 Ly jump each way). That drops the non-scoopable jump count from 6 to 4 - bringing it well within my comfort zone. And I won't need the spare tank then, either.
All this assumes my math is right. Because if it's not, well that could be a sticky situation. But hey, what's exploration without a little risk, eh?
