Logbook Entry: #003 – The Cargo

Recent galactic events have no doubt triggered a sense of urgency following what many people speculate to be an incoming Thargoid invasion force. Although I do not agree with the Federation’s anti-xeno stance I do believe we should be ready to defend ourselves. Personally, I believe the Thargoids should be left alone. Like a wasp or a bee, if you don’t mess with it, it wont mess with you. Unfortunately, Salvation has made that notion impossible now. That is why I ordered 3,450 tons of supplies from the LHS 3615 system to stock up the Rhotarran. CMDR Ms. R7CH and I set out in the Terpsichore to begin our cargo runs. It wasn’t long into our journey that we came under attack by pirates and were forced to make an emergency landing at the settlement. I’m guessing they were monitoring the EG Union com lines for large purchase orders as they already had several dropships inbound. Thankfully we were not alone in our stand as the outpost guards were already moving to defensive positions around the settlement. I’m not sure how many pirates we shot dead but more and more kept coming. Let it be known that the late Head of EG Security, Mr. Bart Saglimbene fought valiantly and served the union with dignity and honor. CMDR Ms. R7CH also performed bravely but was injured during the battle, she is now recovering in the infirmary on-board the Rhotarran. The Doctors managed to pull the slug from her abdomen and stop the bleeding. Without her at my side, all would have been lost, and none of this would have mattered. Thankfully her dominator suite absorbed most of the damage. Had it been engineered and upgraded she might only have a scratch. Thankfully, I know a few engineers who can make that happen.
