Logbook Entry: # 004 – The Damage

Politicians like to use words like ‘Victory’ and ‘Triumph’ to further their political goals, but a politician can never be trusted with anything other than their own self-interest. Normally I don’t involve myself with any formal operations, however that is not the case this time. I just couldn’t sit idly by while people’s homes were being invaded. People like Admiral Glass and Dalton Chase are quick to call Victory, but I am not so sure. I had the honor of fighting alongside several outstanding CMDrs during Operation Tyndareus and I have spoken with them since. We all agreed on one thing. This was no victory; it was a stalemate. The statistics won’t show on paper what we were able to see out there in the field of battle. The Thargoids were just poking at us with pointed sticks to test our mettle. Claiming victory now is nothing more than a political lie. The real battle hasn’t even started yet. I do hope that Sirius Corp provides those pre-engineered heatsinks to the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to defend humanity. But I fear that that too might have been a lie. One thing is for certain though…We are gonna need them. For now though I have two damaged ships to repairs: The AX Vayeate and the newly constructed Sharpshooter FDL, the AXP-01. Both of which have sustained heavy damage.
