Why open play is a joke

Decided to hop into open play for the first time in probably 3 years Just to get a feel for the vibe of the community again. I leave Jameson memorial and head to LTT 4487 to do a little bounty hunting and once I feel happy with what I have achieved there I head back to Jameson memorial but not before getting interdicted by CMDR Valanga and a friend of theirs. They immediately gank me and destroy me getting rid of all my bounty work and also costing me a 43 million rebuy which really isn't that big of a deal. The problem I had was when they sent me a friend request and wanted to give me information on the best way to make sure ganking doesn't happen to me again, saying that they didn't want to be lame and leave me in the dark after killing me. The best way for the community to teach people not to gank is not to gank at all, this commander thought that killing me and pushing me down into the dirt would be a good opportunity to help pick me back up and rise from the ashes when in reality they were just being a prick. What's even crazier is that they seemed disappointed when I relay to them that I will be sticking to Solo from here on out because of people like them, so I guess at the end of the day if you want to have fun and experience the universe at its best then you need to stick to solo. If you feel like flying around as a nervous and anxious ball of stress where you don't even know if you can trust anyone else then you can happily fly open play, so thanks CMDR Valanga for reminding me that no matter what game you can go to there will always be toxic players.
