002 - Exploring the Galaxy

Here I am, landed on a nice looking planet while getting ready for tomorrow's trip back to the bubble. Since my last log I've been doing some exploration in my new Diamondback explorer as expected. I've found some earth like planets, high metal content planets and gas giants amongst other notable things.
When I was looking at that earth like world... Its amazing to think how far we have come over the past thousand years. We were once a primitive race stuck on this one blue marble in space, but now we are free to traverse the galaxy with technology that greatly surpasses those back then. That reminds me that I should try and visit those Voyager probes they sent from earth back in 1977.
As of this log, I have the rank of Ranger in exploration, so all I need now is to get the rank of Pioneer, and then after that, my first Elite! Hopefully once I return to the bubble I'll have lots of exploration data for the rank of Pioneer and any future rebuys I need! Tomorrow I might be meeting up with a friend I knew before I had the credits to get my first Sidewinder. We'll probably do some trading or some combat, it would be a nice break from exploration for a day.
