Strange Accords 6: Of Wolf and Man
26 Jun 2023Silvia Sharpe
That was possibly the worst experience I have ever had in my years as a pilot. Shoot even the dashing runs to and from engineers was less threatening than that crap. Sure you fall into a rhythm there but with that many enemies against a veteran and what was effectively a rookie, it was hard to keep my arse out of the way.I knew it was going to be a crap shoot but that..... was so much worse than I had expected. I watched as the Cyclops died, feeling no remorse for its death. Watching Ina, was like watching one of those superheroes in the comics and movies. Taking little to no damage, dishing out more hate and vengeance than those damned Thargoids could react to. Then there was me. Watching me was like watching a wee babi trying to take its first steps like it's ma and pa. Except those steps were uncertain, sloppy, and terrifying for the parents but also exciting in a way.
I was new to it and it was showing but damn it all if I wasn't doing everything in my power to learn from my mistakes. Fighting those things took a certain level of grace and finesse. I was learning but it was slow and brutally painful. My only saving grace... was that Ranger was designed with one purpose in mind..... to survive and destroy Thargoids.
'Ina remind me to cover your tab at the Galactic for a year after this. I'd be a rat in a house of cats if it weren't for you.'
"Okay, keep prodding them with a laser and... Oh, here you go you little bastard", Ina commented on the Cyclops' explosion while explaining the details to me, and another portion of Thargoid insides, discarded from the cracked carapace, decorated the void.
"Now the Basilisk, it will be a pain in the arse when we start running... So, our lovely couple should be on their way here already, and remember: don't contact that ship. No transmissions, open or private. Whatever moron brigade will be after them, should have no idea about us working together. For an observer, we're just two AX fighters giving hell to the green buggers, and they're doing their own stuff."
She boosted straight to the Basilisk, leaving the remaining Medusa and Cyclops with nothing, Ina opened fire and lit up a heart in an attacking run, before inertia forces drug her out of its sights. Cannons and boosters went to recharge and she made a turn. She targeted the beast and kept her eye on pretty much everything, like distance to it, distance to me, distance to and movement vectors of other Thargoids. The way she maneuvered around the battlefield was mesmerizing.
"So essentially we're not to kill them, but to shove a middle finger into their daddy's face, diverting attention. Once our guys are here, we'll get out of this combat and go harassing the fattest and meanest Hydra close to the Maelstrom, and the real butchery begins... Oh, now how do you like that?"
'Hydra? You mean to tell me we are going to try and poke a rabid grizzly? Damn it! I don't like it but a buddy is always useful.'
I had never seen a hydra, but I had heard stories about them. More ferocious and dangerous than a Medusa. Stronger, faster and more terrifying. I was going to need a scan of this thing so I could analyze it later.
Wounded the Basilisk roared as a dense stream of greenish liquid gushed out of the breach, and its limb turned into dozens of little pieces. The Thargoid, shocked and angered, helplessly tried to put Ina in its sights, but when it turned at her, she was already too far away for it to do anything but take chase. Ina glanced at her tech panel. Marshmallow was just a bit scratched, with a couple of impact marks here and there, one malfunctioning heatsink and a minor breach with slight damage to non-essential modules.
"And as soon as the music starts to fade and distort, it will mean that they're in the cloud and we may retreat to safety. I doubt we should return to Inara though, those bandit carriers could be there right now."
The Basilisk that was bombarded by both of us had three of its limbs missing already and roared in anger, frenzily dashing left and right. Thanks to its top speed, it was quite easy to separate it from the rest of Interceptors and even myself at one point. Catching back up, I lit it up with beams doing my best to keep in a tight orbit trying to distract it so Ina could go to work. I kept and ear out on the comms waiting for the signal. Around this time Creamy entered the system blasting what sounded like classic metal, specifically "Of Wolf and Man". This meant it was time to find the Hydra and to be honest I was absolutely terrified.
"Here we go, Silvia. The Basilisk might be faster than you, but I'm faster than it, and it's going to chase me. So, full power to the drives, boost away, enter the in-system hyperspace and wait for my signal. Make sure to catch your breath, the real shit is about to breach the dam. Kick the previous system into your nav to retreat quickly, and I will follow your marker."
Ina boosted away from me and the Basilisk followed behind her. The presence, and the mass lock factor of a Thargoid Interceptor, interfered with her drive charge, slowing it down dramatically, but, in the end, she managed to get far enough away and slipped into Supercruise. The distraction was just enough for me to charge my own FSD and I too departed the conflict zone. I looked back to Melli who was still unconscious. I was concerned but if all went to plan I'd be able to check on her in a short while.
'Right. Show time. Hang in there Melli just a little while longer.'
Instead of what Ina had said to do, I had input the Coordinates for Kira's fleet carrier. I sent a brief message to Kira trying to keep things simple in case anyone intercepted the message.
Hey thanks for the support. 2 AX ships needing safe harbor. Will need resupply, medical, preferably of the veterinary kind, and a beer. Shit hit the fan and it's about to get worse. Expect us shortly.
Silv
I hit send and let out a sigh of relief. I input Cephei Sector ZZ-Y b3 and locked the system.
****
Ina spent a few moments searching for the signal source for the Hydra. When she found the signal she was searching for she called over the comms.
"Hey, Silv, look... This might be a bit too much, and you should know I'm already totally grateful for your support. If you're concerned, or afraid, or whatever else, you may retreat now and I'm not going to think a single bad thing about you."
"Here's my coordinates, dropping in, going hot."
'You aren't going in alone. This system is their hive. You attack their major ant the whole damn colony is going to swarm you. I'll do my best in there. We only need to hold out a little longer, our resupply should be ready any moment.'
I did my best to keep the comms clear of anything that would hint at our plan so using the FC provided a decent alternative. My wing drop activates and the sight I am presented with sends a chill down my spine. There it was. The largest and meanest Thargoid I had seen to this day. Ina had already began the attack run and it was letting out a God awful roar. Keeping an ear on the music I rushed in and lit the beast up doing my absolute best to piss it off. I watched as the first heart exploded and it let out an angered roar calling out to the colony. I kept the pressure on as best I could with the lasers occasionally offering aide with volleys of gauss rounds.
'Remember Silv not here to kill it. We are here to piss it off and draw in the colony.'
I think to myself as the second heart was exposed and Ina rushed in with a level of grace that just baffled me. With a few well placed shots and an assist from the gauss rounds the beasts second heart exploded. Another deafening roar then the warning I was waiting for.
"WARNING! Multiple frameshift anomalies detected!"
I looked at the targeting panel and saw several unknown signal sources pop up. I looked around the conflict zone but only saw ripples nothing dropping in yet. It was like they were sitting there waiting for their own signal to attack. The Hydra turned its sights on me and launched an attack. I looked down at my heat levels and saw I was sitting a bit too hot.
'Shit!'
I deployed a heat sync and tried and get behind the beast to shield myself from its gaze. Ina fired more rounds striking it square in the front knocking off chunks of its carapace. I fired a volley into its back and another thinking it may be the only chance I had to fire on it.
Ina attempted to fire off a heat sync, well the one that was malfunctioning, caused some pretty big problems. The heat sync canister got lodged in its tube and her heat signature sky rocketed making her the biggest target in 5km. The Hydra reacted, sending a few shots at her. Ina shouted to the comms, before pulling off a risky move that was only possible due to he Hydra's reinforcements simply waiting nearby.
"Ah, crap... Okay, don't try this at home."
Giving more power to her engines, Ina slipped into the lightning attack range, provoking the Hydra to zap her. With her engines almost disabled, she equalized the speed carefully and the Hydra was a sitting duck.
"In your face, you piece of shit!"
She unleashed a deadly volley of shrapnel into the beast exerting the heart and with a second deadly volley she destroyed it at point blank range. Whatever they have for eyes, she hoped they saw her, saw her face and her wild grin as she pulled the triggers again and again, sending hypervelocity hate right where it hurt. Shocked the Hydra roared in pain and ceased its attack, giving her some time to boost away and assess the damage.
Some nasty holes in the hull, and there was an oil leak in the atmosphere circulation fans which wasn't critical as they were doubled and she had about an hour before having to switch over to life support. There was some air pressure loss in some non-essential compartments so she sealed them off. Lining up for an attacking run and enjoying the music on the open channel, Ina notified me of her status.
"Nothing serious, just a nasty scratch. Going in for the fourth."
I kept a close eye on the targeting panel seeing more and more red pop up. They were staging for an assault and it was only a matter of time before their general called them in. I watched Ina charge head first into the hydra. She broke away and began another onslaught. With the beams locked on firmly I adjusted my trajectory slightly keeping Ina in a safe space away from the lasers.
I fired a volley of gauss rounds, but saw only a single violet tracer leave and impact the beast. I looked at my modules and saw my ammo was fine. I called over to Celeste in order to get a status report on the Gauss Cannons.
'Celeste status report on the other 2 gauss cannons.'
"Gauss cannons have failed. Rounds stuck in barrels, seems the mag-rails failed and jammed them."
'Damn it! Ok. Ina heavy damage is going to have to be all you. I've got 2 jammed cannons. Rounds are fused to the barrel liners. I can keep the heat on with the beams but outside of that I've only got one cannon left.'
I circled around the hydra as the fourth heart exploded. I fired off my lasers and single cannon in an attempt to break the thing. It let out a roar as it's shield fell.
'I think it's proper angry now. I just hope the others are not ready to join in yet.' I said to myself as I looked down at my contacts panel.
Ina responded to my status. Her voice calm and collected. She was in her element and there was no hint of fear or uncertainty to be heard anywhere.
"Got it Silv. Keep it calm and cool, avoid anything that moves, and drill the thing with your lasers. It's breaking already. At temps lower than 20 you're safe from any one of them."
'Ok I'll keep the beams on.'
I threw all pips to weapons and shut off the AFMU for my guardian weapons. All I could do is fly support. Which was fine by me. It just meant no need to worry about boosting around and possibly slamming into the Hydra or Marshmallow. Eventually the fifth heart lit up after another group of barrages, and Ina dropped a heatsink, vanishing from the sights of the enraged Thargoid once again, to recharge her weapons and boosters. We heard the music go dull and my heart dropped a bit. Ina called over opens in an attempt to check on them whilst remaining anonymous. Some muffled chatter could be heard, but nothing decipherable.
Open: "Hey, rockstar, what's going on there? You were starting to get some fans!"
Boosting and keeping the glowing heart in her sights preemptively, equalizing the rotation, Ina began making her way back to the Hydra and when she was in range she fired. The first pair of her cannons thundered, sending a wave of shrapnel into the exposed heart and damaging it, tearing off chunks and pieces, piercing holes through a shielding layer. Aggressively rotating and keeping the target in her sights, Ina fired off her second pair of cannons, paying little to no attention to a few stray projectiles hitting her hull. The Hydra's fifth heart exploded, sending the beast into a spin whilst streams of greenish acid blood gushed from the open wound, and the Thargoid emitted a desperate roar full of pain.
"Damn it, Silvia. I hope they're okay there. We can't help them now since once we drop nearby, all that steaming pile of shit will attack them."
Ina and I chipped away at the beast causing it to exert its 6th heart. Not having anything other than beams and flak left, I tried to concentrate fire on the heart soaking it with heat. The heart erupted and the thing let out another roar. This time those signal sources joined the fray not all at once though. Only a few dropped in while the rest waited safe in their bubbles of witch space peering on as spectators.
'OK Silv, keep it cool. Keep the heat on and piss them off. We have to give those guys cover. The only way to do that is to bring the swarm to us.'
I thought to myself as rounds pelted Ranger, her shields took the brunt of the damage. Another swarm rushed me and I fired off the flak cannon, my first shot missed. I lined up a second shot and fired, it was a direct hit and the swarm vanished. I redirected my attention to the hydra and popped another heat sync.
'Come on you bastard. Call in the swarm.' I said to myself as I corrected my angle of attack.
As Ina ran in dropping more shrapnel into the thing, it let out an even angrier and more desperate roar. This time everything in stand by dropped in to aid their general. I counted 8 targets on my scanner and an additional 4 in my line of sight. Several smaller scouts dropped in and zipped around the battlefield.
'Looks like we pissed it off. Those two better be ok and get here quick. We are entering the point of no return. The longer this drags on the more threats are going to show up.'
At that point I was trembling. I felt isolated, alone, and helpless. I couldn't leave though. Ina may have countless kills under her belt, but that swarm could have overwhelmed her easily and would have caught her off guard. I pressed on and kept the beams lit. Several small ships passed into my line of sight then disappeared. I dropped another heat sync and attempted to avoid the mass of enemies that had appeared.
Vodan found us thanks to Ina's message, and logged our marker for Creamy. After dodging a couple more Goid interdictions, the Knight dropped in to Ina's combat zone.
"Oh, they've netted quite the menagerie. That's going to be a nasty surprise for your old friends" said Creamy popping a heat sink as the Goids turned to face the Knight.
"Put your helmet on that man" Creamy advised Vodan "Ninette, let's use Creeping Frost and fix up my friend.. Oh friends. Wonder who's with her?"
All the lights went out along with life-support as Ninette turned off everything that wasn't needed for a fight. Letting momentum carry the Knight on, Creamy used minimum thrust to weave between the interceptors, and launched a limpet at the Marshmallow, and then picked a path to my ship knowing the limpet would patch up Rangers' hull a bit.
"Attention pilots, raiders incoming. I suggest you retreat to a safe system at once" Said Creamy wishing he could tell us thank you, but now was not the time.
With a tail of Thargoids following him, Creamy flipped the ship one-eighty and drifted backwards, skirting incoming fire while he waited for Vengerfield's sniffer-dogs to catch up, and drop into a nest of vipers.
Evading their shots was becoming more and more difficult for both of us. 'Accuracy through volume', firing a shitload of shots somewhere at Ina's direction, they made those open windows between bursts awfully small, and, from time to time, rounds struck Marshmallow hammering her hull. The right rear maneuvering thruster let out a shower of sparks and stopped working at all, limiting her agility, and a couple of reserve coolant tanks were already activated to compensate for the leak.
Lining up her shots, exerting the seventh heart, we got that goddamn frameshift anomaly message again... And more of them appeared soon, emerging from the ripples. I nearly swallowed my tongue as I saw the signature silhouette of a second Hydra.
"Ah, come on... Give me all you got you sorry pathetic bastards! Show me how many of you losers it takes for the two of us!" Screamed Ina
Seeing another wave of reinforcements appear from the veil made me think that maybe instead of a true hivemind maybe these things actually had a proper form of communication. It seemed that they instead of being afraid of us were testing us to see what we were truly capable of. Maybe they were taking this as a challenge, a test to prove their own strength. Though it was as if the only way they could defeat us was by outnumbering us 20 to 1.
The seventh heart disappeared in a disgusting acidic cloud and the Hydra roared in desperation. And, just a few moments after that, we saw hyperspace flashes and heard Creamy's transmission, along with the sound of repair drones attaching to our ships.
"Incoming limpet drone."
'Thank you.' I say to myself as I watch the hull percentage increase.
"Come on, Silvia, hit the boosters! I'll shake them off your six and follow you." Ina called over the comms once more then went silent.
Ina really wanted to gut that Hydra now. So... A little trick that she hope she would be forgiven for. She turned 180 to move backwards, still following me, and fired a few shots at the beast, making it focus its attention on her again, instead of chasing Creamy's Krait. We should drag it away for a couple of minutes, effectively disappearing from everybody's sensors, and... it was hers.
"Keep those boosters hot, Silv, a few more seconds and we'll be too far from the entry coordinates!"
'Engaging FSD. Time to get the hell out of here.'
I fired the beams once more then stowed my weapons. I fired off a heat sync and disappeared from the sights of the swarm. I aimed for the jump point and refrained from calling over to Creamy. My FSD engaged and I disappeared from the battle field.
When Ina saw my Challenger finally jump to safety, she turned her own music system on and targeted the crippled Hydra that was following her like a wounded rabid dog, without a single chance to succeed, and dead determined to bite her at least once. The beast was shattered, torn, and leaving a trail of greenish acid drops as it kept chasing her with a deranged persistency. It struggled to keep a stable speed and trajectory, sliding away or lagging behind.
"Now, you're mine."
Ina slowed her movement down to a total halt and then added a bit of side thrust, beginning the circle, letting the Hydra get closer, but still staying out of reach. Once it got close enough, she dropped a heatsink and moved in closer, sending a volley of a deadly shrapnel, ripping off pieces of its hull, and exerting the last heart. Firing wildly in a desperate, hopeless attempt, it still managed to graze her left stabilizing fin, but that's all. Her cannons reloaded, and another rain of projectiles shattered the last heart of the beast, making it moan in agony.
Still, too big and chonky to go down right after the last heart. But that last shield looked like... Raising a bare hand, trying to stop the heavy sword falling on the head. Soon, it was gone, as it disappeared in a cloud of acid and jagged debris, sending its last dying roar into the cosmic void.
****
I dropped into Cephei Sector ZZ-Y b3 and searched for Yke Normandy (T9K-13T) Kira's Fleet Carrier. I located it on the comms panel and dropped into the airspace around it.
'Greetings Yke Normandy this is commander Silvia Sharpe, designation Sierra India Lima, Lakon Spaceways of the Ranger. I should have 1 additional AXDF Fer-De-Lance designation Marshmallow following close behind.'
"Greetings Lakon, Sierra India Lima. You have docking clearance available when you are ready."
I killed the thrusters and ran back to check on Melli who was finally coming to and struggling to her feet. I picked her up gently and placed her on the bed. I returned to my seat and kept an eye on the contacts panel.
'Come on Ina where are you?'
Ina punched the system name into the navcomp and jumped freely, without anything interfering with the charge. Marshmallow dropped into the system and into the airspace for the Fleet carrier. I let out a sigh of relief when I heard Ina's voice.
"Hey, Silv. I nailed that bastard."
'I'm glad you're ok. Carrier is ready for us to dock. Are we waiting for Creamy or are we getting the hell out of dodge? Either way there should be something for us to drink when we get to the lounge.'
I engaged my thrusters and noticed severe output reduction. I took a look at my modules health and saw the main drive was pretty badly damaged. Celeste called over the internal comms.
"WARNING! Thruster malfunction."
Alarms went berserk and there was a groaning sound coming from the right side main thruster followed by a trail of smoke. Sparks and flames erupted from the outlet before the thruster exploded. I called over to the Normandy for emergency clearance.
"Shit. Hang on!", Ina shouted to the comms seeing my thruster explode.
'Normandy, this is Sierra India Lima requesting immediate and emergency docking protocols. I just lost a main and am struggling to keep her straight.'
'Lakon spaceways Sierra India Lima you are cleared for emergency docking.'
It would have be a hell of a shame to eject next to the carrier just after what we had been through. But then, waiting for her own clearance, she saw me landing the crippled Challenger with less grace and finesse than a drunk tanker pilot. I proceeded to the landing pad, as smoke and hydrogen flames poured out from the thruster. I lined up for landing and slammed into the pad. The landing gear collapsed due to the corrosive damage sustained and the canopy shattered upon impact. The landing pad groaned out and there was a horrendous sound of crunching metal. I slammed down into my seat as the momentum from Ranger stopped abruptly. The pad was immediately pulled inside and the hangar doors closed as the fire suppression system activated smothering the flames that erupted as oxygen was introduced.
My hands were shaky and the thought of what just transpired rushed around in my head. I had entered the dragons maw and escaped relatively unharmed. I rushed to grab Melli and ran to the on ship lab to check her over and ensured she wasn't injured internally. As I exited the hangar I called over to Ina.
'Go ahead and dock I got confirmation that you are cleared to request landing. You don't have to stay but they can at least patch you up if you need it.'
"Thank you. I'll tell them to refuel me and patch up the vital systems. It shouldn't take long. Can I... Have something to drink in that place?"
Her landing pad descended, moving Marshmallow into the inner hangars of the carrier, and Ina got up from the pilot seat to pull her armor off and stretch her legs a little in zero gravity. Just before throwing the communicator back into her pocket, she connected it to Marshmallow's onboard computer and copied the last few minutes of cam footage, with exploding Hydra, thinking that I might like that view.
'Drinks? Ya. Head to the lounge I'll meet you there I have something pressing to attend to right now.'
I entered the lab and laid Melli on the table. I performed a physical on her and felt no broken bones. The CT scan showed no internal bleeding so I placed her armor back on and we headed to the lounge to meet with Ina to decompress. Melli had a slight limp taking care to avoid too much pressure on her left front leg. We entered the lounge and I took off my chest protector placing it on the back of a chair. I let out a long shaky sigh and took a seat. Melli laid down next to the chair.
'Something strong please.' I said to the sommelier on duty.
****
Ina followed the signs to reach the pilots lounge on the carrier after quickly showing the damage to the hangar tech crew. Thankfully, her heavily upgraded modules were somewhat fine, and what did require repairs was more standardized. Namely, those air flow fans with their oil leak, some ruptured coolant circuits, a few shock absorbers here and there, a bunch of power cables and so on. Fried maneuvering thruster wasn't compatible with anything they had, but I could make my way to one of AXDF outposts without it anyway.
Entering the lounge, Ina saw me and Melli sitting there awfully silent, and there was a zero-g glass of a double rum and cola on the table, at which I blankly stared. Ina guessed I was totally drained. She waved her hand at us as she entered and took a big mug of dark beer at the bar and joined.
"Thank you, Silvia. I appreciate that greatly. Both as an AX pilot and as a human being. Are you two alright?"
'Huh? Oh. ya don't mention it.'
I took a mouth full of the double rum-cola, then reached into a pouch on my hip and pulled out a pack of mint chocolate flavored cigarettes. I felt around my pouch for Venus' lighter and sighed. I must have lost it at some point I thought to myself and turned to Ina.
'Got a light? That back there.... what we just went through...' I shook the thought out of my head and lit the cigarette
'Melli has a sprained shoulder and I am sure I have some bruised ribs. We will live though.'
I rubbed my neck and let out a shaky breath. The sight of me breathing shakily made Ina think that showing me the Hydra Explosion video might be not the best option for now. She took a sip of beer... Ina supported my smoking by opening the pack of vanillas from Galactic and pulling one cigarette out of it. the sweet-flavored smoke made her close her eyes relaxedly for a moment.
"I'm fine. Techs are patching up important systems at the moment. So that I could proceed with my assignment and get to proper repairs and sleep at the outpost I'm heading to."
Another sip of beer finally neutralized that annoying dryness in her mouth, since, her last cup of coffee in the Galactic mostly ended up on her uniform thanks to my collapsing.
"Damn it. Sorry. Should've warned you. You were just out of medical, and now that. I'd really like to... I dunno. Help with something. You look totally drained, and that's explainable. But maybe a presence of a friendly face after all that could do okay."
'Thanks. And look no need to feel bad.. this was my doing. I put myself there to ensure you could at least have some support to be able to make it back to this mystery lady of yours.'
I gave Ina a light shove on the shoulder. I looked into the glass in front of me and spun it slowly, before continuing.
'I haven't been near a Medusa since Gnosis... and even then I wasn't fighting it I was running from it. If I told you it didn't bother me I'd be lying. I haven't told anyone this but the reason I don't want to fight the Thargoids is because I am terrified of them. Even with you there that looming thought of I'm going to die was right there.'
"Thank you", Ina took another drag of vanilla-flavored smoke. "That's why we mostly fight in wings... That reminded me of one pilot from my former wing. A young boy, in his early twenties, was afraid of being stranded in space, left alone, in a disabled ship. His hands were shaking every time he saw a Thargoid. Then, scored dozens of kills, protecting thousands of civilians, after slowly realizing that we, people, are there for each other."
I took a drag off the cigarette and let it out slowly. A small smile formed on my face as I looked at the cigarette in my hand.
'Heh, Venus would kill me if she knew I was smoking again.'
Ina caught herself staring none less blankly at her own mug, and, interrupting her stream of thoughts, took another sip of that pleasant cold drink.
"Ah, smoking, drinking, whatever... It's all not about the habits that a person has, but more about the person who has those habits. You need an escape sometimes or something to help you make it through another day. But, in the end, this day is ours", Ina raised her mug as if making a toast.
'To new friends and future memories.'
I said the words and raised my glass. Afterwards I took a long slow drink and looked out the large window into the emptiness of space. This universe we live in has a strange way of showing its true beauty even in the worst of circumstances. I turned back to Ina and reached into a small pouch on my waist. From it I pulled out a small figurine bearing a striking resemblance to Melli.
'Here. Take this as a token of thanks. You saved my life in that bar I'm told. For that I am forever grateful. Now if you'll excuse me I am in desperate need of some rest. I hope to see you out there Ina. Fly safe, live Dangerously.'
I finished my drink, offered Ina a parting hug, grabbed my chest protector off the chair and headed to a nearby crew room for some much needed rest. Melli rubbed against Ina as if to say you are a friend to me and limped after me. Ina took the figurine with a nod of gratefulness and put it into the chest pocket of her uniform. She hugged me in return and gave Melli a gentle scratch behind her ears, then got back to her beer and her thoughts.

OOC Credits
I had been going through a pretty rough patch after having written the last few episodes of Til Death Do Us Part and having this as a distraction from that was something that I am grateful for. I truly hope you have enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed taking part in this. I want to give a special thanks to everyone involved with this for giving me one of the best experiences I have had in this community. I am no author and I certainly cannot take credit for everything written in these last few entries so again thank you to everyone. If you have been thinking of joining into an RP do it, the change of pace is fun and everyone involved is pretty relaxed. See you all in the next one.
