KARAMENOS: I've been out fighting the Thargoids to clear and retake systems for... I don't know how long now. Honestly, I've taken a few breaks -- gone AWOL for a minute, to get my bearings.

KARAMENOS: Let's see... what happened on my last excursion... So I went out to Pegasi Sector NN-S B4-10 on Wednesday night -- came back to Shalatula early this morning. Got a couple Cyclops, a Basilisk, was in a few fights with Medusas and Hydras... mostly spent my time fighting Scouts and Glaives, collecting escape pods from those less fortunate. Bringing back 8 escape pods and collecting about 75 million CR in bonds. Oh, yeah, I was interdicted by a pretty dumb pirate at one point. Didn't end well for him.
--KARAMENOS SIGHS--
KARAMENOS: It's a shame things are the way they are. So many millions of lives lost, so much we could have gained if things went differently, so many people being held captive and, according to Madam Seo, that's because they're being "harvested as a resource." We still don't know what for, but I get this sinking feeling every time I think of it. What are they planning with the Vanished? What are they doing to our civilians? Why are they so important to keep alive and capture that they've created a specific means of doing so? What's especially upsetting is how preventable all of this was. If we just listened... if we just tried to communicate instead of fight over what wasn't ours to begin with. Humans are so greedy... Look, I celebrate every victory. Every fight I win, especially out on my own -- but I don't take pleasure in killing them. I wish we could just learn more about them. I wish things were different.
--BRIEF PAUSE--
KARAMENOS: I'm heading out to HIP 113076 after we clear Holvandalla, since it looks like the Thargoids are trying to regain control here, and then I'll be there until we clear the system. Then it's on to the next, as always, until this is over. Until we win the war. I guess we have to deal with the consequences after, whatever they are, or once we find out what the Thargoids' plan is.
