I'm a very, very happy rebel today. As I write this, I'm presently surrounded by a gaggle of rough-and-tumble characters with an abundance of liquor and revolutionary spirit, all of them wearing dark glasses and fedoras and hooting and hollering like baboons. They're still celebrating the long-awaited takeover of the system from Azimuth. Even the counter-insurgency forces sent to reclaim Hunziker Terminal haven't managed to dampen their spirits. They fly their combat sorties, defend their bases, and go right back to celebrating until it's time for the next fight. Can't say that's wise, but I also can't blame them. I feel the same way they do, which is why I'm rocking a fedora myself even after someone dumped half my bottle of rum all over it. I'm not even really that cheesed about losing good rum, since they managed to pay me back and then some.
It's hard to believe that we finally got to this point. A couple of months ago, the Blue Brothers were struggling to hold onto that tiny little foothold at Mendez Military Facility. Even now, their position is tenuous. We're going to need a good strategy to make sure they keep control of the system, especially with all the Azimuth goons and ignorant saps in the Pilots Federation still working for those Mbooni system permits.
Yet, here we are! Our anarchist friends control Hunziker and it's open season on Azimuth Biotech in this system. It's only one system, but it's a big step forward, symbolically. We've struck a heavy blow against one of humanity's greatest threats to itself, and momentum is nice and high. I couldn't be prouder of the Blues Brothers, nor of all the other friends I made helping them cast off the shackles.
There's still plenty of work to do, naturally. Not today, though. I've still got rum to finish and a war to win. If I'm still around after, then we'll see what kind of trouble I can get up to next.
