It's finally over. At least with regards to Taranis.We all gathered to watch it meltdown, part funeral, part effigy, a monumental and emotional event to be sure, one I will never forget.
The blast was indescribable, I'll try to post some images my ship captured as it exploded. I even tried to fly back into the Maelstrom but the residual caustic material overpowered by Caustic sinks within seconds, forcing me to leave after getting within 105km of the epicenter. From what I hear, the substance will be dissapated to safe levels within a week or so.
As sad as I am at the death of such an incredible feat of technology, I am relieved that at least we have a way to end this all now. We have hope where there was none. The wheels of war are set in motion, they won't stop and we won't stop until the last Titan has fallen or they turn tail and leave, if they even can.
So many questions un-answered, where did they come from? What do they want? Why are they here and why do they keep fighting?
Maybe in the coming weeks we will learn more, maybe the titans will finally leave now that they know we have a weapon to kill them, maybe we can find a diplomatic way to resolve this.. one can dream right?
One last thought.. As she blew up, she let out one last cry and I might be crazy.. but I'm pretty sure I heard a response.
