Running rares like it's 3303!

My mentor once told me, long ago, that life is circular and that things eventually come back around even if it takes a long time. I remember rolling my eyes and getting back to work at those times, but now that I'm older and wiser (ha!) I'm starting to agree with the old man's flights of fancy.

Rares trading, it seems, is one of those circular things that is coming "back around" in a really big way. I never would have guessed it, but the long years I spent cutting my teeth smuggling Onionhead in my old Cobra Mk III are really paying dividends now that trading and smuggling rare goods is back on the table. I've brushed off my old trade routes and blockade running skills from those days and am now putting them back to work, albeit in better ships, which is both a blessing and a curse - a blessing in that my Type 8 is a whole lot nicer than my old Cobra Mk III was, but a curse in that it's much more expensive to recover from being caught and popped by either pirates or system security.

I don't know how long this new galactic interest in rare goods will last, but it is certainly a nice and nostalgia trip down memory lane as it stands now.
