The minutebeastThreat level, 3.
High risk.
Through the vast equatorial temperate forests of (Redacted), lurks the minutebeast. It’s six eyes dart in all directions, always on the hunt.
Description
A central feature to the minutebeast is its beak. Devised of two large, prominent teeth, it has around the same jaw strength of a hyena native to earth, able to crunch bone with ease.
There are three sets of eyes on the minutebeast. It stands bipedally, around the same height as a human being due to the low gravity environment of the planet (4-6 ft). it has no other limbs except for wings, which are usable during the creatures’ childhood (About 4 standard months to two standard years) and quickly become useless as they mature, this is most likely a device to ensure the safety of chicks, as they have not gained the advantage of ‘The symbiosis’ (See below).
The minutebeast has an unusual symbiotic relationship with a flora native to the environment of their territory, which has been nicknamed ‘Sleepflowers’. Instead of the usual way that plants gain sustenance, photosynthesis, these plants are carnivorous. They attach themselves to the bodies of minutebeasts, assisting in the kill of prey via explosive seed pods that jab into foes with a tranquilizer effect on the majority of life on that planet, humans included. The minutebeasts as a species is immune to such an effect. The tranquilisation makes it easy for the minutebeast to kill, and the two organisms take their share.
If part of expedition team to the planet (Redacted). Travel in groups, avoid loud crunching noises. That is not fallen plants, that is bone. Keep aware. Stay safe.
