1. Situation to date
The sudden departure of Cocijo toward the core systems has thrown Emerald Dawn Operations into disarray, caused the loss of two AX fighters, and has necessitated implementation of Emergency Plan “Ark.”
AX Flights Lance and Shield, assigned to the Emerald Dawn, were actively engaging Thargoid forces around Cocijo when the Titan began the process of departing the system. Prior to the departure, a sudden influx of Thargoid small craft overwhelmed human AX elements, forcing a retreat. Pilots Ariel “Tin Cup” DeSoto and Michael “Bubblegum” Altmeir of Shield flight were KIA while providing rear cover for retreating forces.
Passenger capacity is at 25% (12509) but is projected to rise above 90% if the Thargoids target heavily populated core systems. Emergency Plan “Ark” can sustain 100% passenger capacity for up to a month without being resupplied, but Emerald Dawn will need to reduce services and amenities if 100% passenger capacity is to be maintained for longer without regular supply shipments.
2. Actions to date
In preparation for departing Tjiwang and changing operational areas:
- All AX fighter support assigned to the Emerald Dawn has been recalled.
- Rescue efforts have been restricted only to emergency situations, or when large numbers of Imperial citizens are in imminent danger.
- Station repair and refit operations have been suspended.
- LOGREQs have been submitted to ensure the Emerald Dawn has enough food, medicine, and other supplies for protracted rescue operations wherever Cojico reappears.
3. Actions to be completed
- Coordinate with Emerald Repatriation Society (ERS) Housing and Relocation to accelerate the transfer of rescuees aboard the Emerald Dawn to ERS settlements.
- Request AX fighter reinforcement for Flight Shield.
- Determine next area of operations once Cojico manifests in realspace and the Thargoids attack. Coordinate with local system authorities for access to local services, and to provide what support Emerald Dawn can offer to local authorities.
4. Issue(s)
- If Cocijo moves toward more densely populated Imperial systems, the Emerald Dawn may not be able to adequately handle the expected numbers of displaced citizens.
- If we operate as dictated by the ERS Director and concentrate only on the rescue of imperial citizens in densely populated core systems, this may result in conflict with non-imperial system authorities. Rather than deny non-imperials seats on rescue ships, Emerald Dawn command staff suggests prioritizing imperial citizens while filling any empty seats with non-imperials. Once aboard the Emerald Dawn, non-imperials will then be transferred to Pilot Fed rescue ships.
