DISTANT WORLDS 2 - DAY 2 - GOING NOWHERE FAST

Galactic stardate 14JAN3305After the chaos of yesterday's Galactic Mapping crash, some of the squadron pushed on as soon as mapping was back up, but the Mapping servers remained unstable and it sounded like frustrating work trying to make any progress.
I decided to stay put and use the down time to repair the thruster cowlings that got 're-aligned' during yesterday's vertical take-off.
Star Reaper's external cameras showed the lower cowlings were slightly bent, but there seemed to be no major damage. A few hours of EVA and judicious use of hydraulic jacks got things pretty much straight again and out of the exhaust firing line. She's just got a few more scratches to add to her general air of abuse and neglect.

Good news is, new crew Cathy proved pretty adept with a welding torch and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Bodes well for the trip ;-)
Hopefully Galactic Mapping will be back up and stable tomorrow, and we can finally get this trip under way. First pitstop, Shapley 1.
It'll be cool to revisit a waypoint from the Small Worlds Expedition, and Cathy wants to see the sights along the way, so suits both of us.
