DISTANT WORLDS 2 - DAY 16 - PRETTY IN PINK (AND GREEN)

Galactic stardate 28JAN3305It was only a short trip to NGC 6565 today, but it took us quite some time as Star Reaper's FrameShift was misbehaving again, continually dropping us back out of hyperspace mid-jump.
Eventually, after several hours of diagnostics, we tracked the fault down to the Galmap plotter interface. A re-flash of the firmware and a reboot seems to have cured the problem... for the time being anyway!
NGC 6565 was worth the effort to get here though.
To say it was a contrast to the twilit mountains yesterday could probably be the understatement of the year!
The nebula cloud was a wonderful green hue, but the light from the Wolf-Rayet picked out every planet and object in a stunning, contrasting pink.
After our troublesome journey, we couldn't resist dropping into the rings of one of the gas giants, deploying the fighter and carving some turns through the 'roids in the pink lit haze.
it was a perfect end to a difficult day.
We'll stay here the night, and I'll run more diagnostics on Star Reaper to make sure she hasn't got any more gremlins.
There is actually a couple of starports on our route to the Conflux, Eagle's landing and Eudaemon Anchorage, both of which have repair facilities, though hopefully I can get to the bottom of our issues and we won't need them.
