DISTANT WORLDS 2 - DAY 27 - PURPLE HAZE

08 Feb 2019Zak Starfall
Galactic stardate 08FEB3305

Time to aim for Waypoint 4 today, overlooking the Llyn Tegid Nebula.

The Galmap route Cathy plotted gave a distance of 34 jumps, so it should be achievable without pushing ourselves too hard.
This is day 27 of the trip, and apart from a brief break back at Omega Mining, we've been travelling every day, usually over 1,000lys  each day, so it will be good to get to the meetup a little early if we can, and have time to catch our breath.

Four jumps into our climb back up to the galactic plane, and we discovered our second Earth-like world of the trip.

After nearly a month on the bridge of Star Reaper, it looked very uninviting, apart from the fact that there was no sign of life down there that the scanner could pick up, so no bar, no casino, no comfy bed!
We did a thorough system scan, recorded the data and kept pushing on.

In the end today, in addition to the ELW, we discovered 4 WW's, two of which were terraformable. This was all good data that Universal Cartographics would pay handsomely for. Humanity is always searching for potential systems for colonisation as we spread our reach further and further out into the galaxy.

After 34 jumps, as Galmap accurately predicted, we dropped into Clooku EW-Y C3-197, a neighbouring system to the Llyn Tegid Nebula, chosen by the fleet organisers as the meetup point due to the wonderful views it gave of the nebula itself.
well, the organisers have certainly done their homework, another stunning backdrop greeted us as we entered the system. The galactic plane providing a nice contrast to the electric blue/purple of the nebula cloud.

The meet-up point was on planet 5 G A, near one of the planet's geological sites. We cruised out there, seeing several other ships also heading that way, conducted a quick planet scan to locate the site, and headed down to the surface.

Tomorrow, we'll make some visual records and maybe scout a nearby system or two, if we're in the mood.
But for now, we're here, 12,000lys from Eleu,  and poised ready for the next leg of the journey.

Only 56,000lys to go!
