First thargoid encounter

Encountered my first thargoid today. I was doing a Road To Riches route and wasn't watching the system stats; it was a fairly remote, unexplored system, so I parked and did a system scan, and was in the process of finding all the bodies in the system. I saw a bunch of Combat Aftermath signals at threat level 6, and thought, "Huh. Something big must've gone down here recently," but never thought twice about it at the time. Next thing I new, my screen went all glitchy and I was interdicted. I heard the hellish scream and knew I was fucked lol. All I could do was mash my boosters, but to no avail— the creature quickly depleted my shields and sent an explosive shell my way. It connected, and I went boom. I was too scared and panicked to even get a look at the fucker haha. Mind you, this was the ship I owned with the most expensive assets (over 10MilCR), so I thought I'd never see the ship again, but lo and behold, I bought it back for less than 50kCR. The most harrowing experience I've had so far in the game, and I've been ganked in Open on a twitch stream by a famous stream sniper, whom I've forgotten the name of by now.
