The Taimin Gold Rush

Very recently I met an old Ally from very old 61FE times.
I had already relocated the fleet to HIP 60953 some weeks ago, so technically I made myself "home" there anyway.
So being in a new home, naturally I thought about "keeping things tidy".
Plus, compared to very old times, a mere 6 Control Systems seemed very manageable and it's not a busy region anyway.
With no Expansion plans and zero interest in the other 11 Systems the 60953 Resistance is also present in, found it a perfectly workable place. Not much work to do though...
After a little chat with the old friend, I joined the Squadron - which basically shared the exact same goals. Some mild housekeeping - but no big plans. Just keep things as they are.
Soon thereafter, Influence was stable in very comfortable regions and nothing left to do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few Exploration trips later though, an idea came to my mind : why not make the place attractive ?
With little Options, the Mining Economy came to my mind.
As opposed to oldschool work to affect Influence from old times - it was all about Faction States. Screw Influence, doesn't matter. Makes things far easier.
With the recent changes to the Mining Economy and its effect on the Galaxy, however, the classic target for such a campaign was out of the Question.
Sure, Void Opals still pay good - but they simply stopped being king of the hill.
Assessing "what's hot" on the markets, only one thing was left : Low Temperature Diamonds
With HIP 60953 entering another Expansion, one of the prerequisites had set in.
As opposed to most other Commodities, those Diamond prices love Expansions, a valuable lesson from old times - long before Core Mining was even a thing.
With the Target set, it was time to get working....
Looking around, Taimin seemed the best candidate. Industrial Economy with a solid demand for Low Temperature Diamonds and still an okay demand for Painite. Good enough.
Not much was needed to stabilize the existing Boom State, plus there were plenty of very profitable Tourist Missions on offer. A few scenic hops throughout the bubble made for some nice trips.
Some local Bounty Hunting sessions later and defending a routinely visiting Megaship near one of the Outposts, the Civil Liberty was brought along in sync with the pending Expansion going live.
A few days later, Pirate Attack additionally set in, adding the missing "spice" to and completing the final Requirement.
The timing was a tad unfortunate though - onboard the TEV Aurora, a low-intensity survey of the Phantom Streak Sector was conducted... But those 6500LY were traversed rapidly.
Reason? What's good news worth, if there's noone spreading the word?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arrival was late - but a quick trip to Slade Ring, Kimberlin Vision and Shirley Horizons was all it needed to feed the public Data Networks with the new market prices.
I went to sleep with me being the sole Traffic in the entire System for the last 24 hours. All alone.
Checking in a few hours later, this low-Traffic System had already attracted alot of sellers. The more time passed, the more the Traffic counter increased.
Juicy Diamond & Painite prices called - and holy hell... they all came!
And juicy those prices were. Darn, did not expect that!
Going from "zero to hero" instantaneously, the public Databases revealed the System was the No.1 top LTD Market in the entire Galaxy.
On top, despite record-worthy traffic - prices for Low Temperature Diamonds remained surprisingly stable. Being more volatile, Painite eventually caved in as expected but still scored an okay price.

PS.
Now what did I do? Mining?
...nah. Checked the Credit Balance - and simply saw no need.
Rumors about some "Fleet Carriers" bounce around since a long time now but if those Billions in the Credit Balance aren't enough, I'd have to doubt they'd be worth it.
But maybe the little "housekeeping" will enable others to buy one of these in the future.
Not expecting that - but should I ever see a Carrier with the name "earned in Taimin" I'd certainly smile and shout a quick "You're Welcome, CMDR!"
So with my job done, I grabbed the TEV Douglas for a near-field Exploration tour...
Departed from a Station literally filled to the brim with Traffic selling ores, easily rivaling Jameson Memorial during busy times.
I find myself thinking "Hm, that was surprisingly fun to do. This should be repeated at some time."
And yep, could get used to that.
