14 OCT 3302: Colonia

14 Oct 2016Pitchzer0
I have been here at Colonia for about two weeks. News from back home gets here slowly, I find myself spending a lot of days hanging around Jacques' bar, waiting for new arrivals to bring news from the bubble. Often the tales I hear all have a similar message. Folks wanted to head this way to get a fresh start some place new. Some want to see some sights no one else has seen before, other just want to find a spot somewhere and just be left alone. I can understand that, some people want to find peace. But all of us out here must be some kind of special in the head, flying 22,000 LY into the black to find it.

I have been keeping myself busy, helping the locals with mining and security for Colonia Hub. I am making decent credits too, so don't take it as I am complainin'. A guy can make a decent wage out here, a honest wage. It is just that it is the same thing, everyday. Feels like a causality loop! I am starting to get antsy, I can't sit in one place too long and I have been doing way too much drinkin'. If I drink anymore of Jaques firewater, my insides are going to rot.

I have been keeping The Ghost of Zeon in dock, she is maintained and fuel is topped off, I can't decide if I want to stick it out or haul full thrusters back to the bubble. I keep hearing talk from the new arrivals about drives being supercharged by neutron and white dwarf stars. What nutjub engineer came up with that idea?

Time to end this log, my shift with the Resource security wing is coming.
