Fantastic views wait for YOU in EDO’s backyard

If you want to be an explorer and become rich thanks to Exobiology, start with baby steps and discover you don't have to leave EDO's backyard to find fantastic views and even make some money.

One good piece of advice: if you want to be an explorer and search for Exobiology specimens, it’s away from the Bubble that you’ll get the best conditions to do so. But start small - even a Sidewinder will be enough – and get your first credits exploring planets and moons within the region of colonized space spanning 160 light-years from Sol. It will allow you to get a taste of what exploration and Exobiology are, before adventuring into the black. It’s safer out there, in fact – no pirates or Thargoids - and if you don’t mind being alone for long periods, you’ll make a fortune.

Before, though, it’s a good idea to start with a planned short exobiology tour around "the bubble", to understand how it works. You’ll discover that it’s possible to "make a living" and you’ll discover you don’t need to leave EDO's backyard to find fantastic views. I share this experience in one comic-style eBook that tells my own voyage of adventure as a new Commander in Elite: Dangerous Odyssey.
The first money I made from exploration was used to buy a Cobra MK III, chosen for one good reason: to be able to take other Commanders with me on some journeys. No, I did not drop the Sidewinder, in fact it is my go-to ship when exploring alone, using a Fleet Carrier as base. But the Cobra MK III allows for other types of experiences, and is equipped with an SRV for when needed, a vehicle I never use on the Sidewinder.

For this eBook, A Cobra in the Backyard, the Cobra MK III with the new survey pack theme was used, on a planned trip that had a goal: show it’s possible to make money from Exobiology without traveling far away from the “civilized” world. Nothing beats the credits you earn when out in the black, especially if you’re after “first discoveries” – in Exobiology some easy to find specimens pay 90 million… - but if you can’t stay away from the Bubble for long, this might be a way to make a living. Yes, there are other options, but if you want to explore and “hunt bacteria” – as we sometimes joke – then this eBook reveals a path, giving you a starting point.

More important than showing how to earn credits, though, the nearly 30-page comic-style eBook is a clear example that the area we call “The Bubble” still has hidden planetary wonders waiting to be found. Or rediscovered…
