A Monstrous Resistance

03 Nov 2023Jaxlrander
Since the dawn of man, we have always killed anything that dared to oppose us. First, it was the Neanderthals, then it was the animals whose ecosystems we destroyed. Even our mother, Earth, has been ravaged because she dared not let us take everything she had. When man resists man we slaughter him as though he was an animal. Throughout history we have done nothing but kill, but slaughter, and if the slaughtered dared resist, we tried harder.

When we first met the Thargoids they greeted us with curiosity. They hyperdicted our ships to observe us, observe these spacefaring creatures in the dark forest of the Milky Way. And what did we do when faced with this curiosity? We shot them, shot them as though they were animals. We did not ask what they were, or what they wanted with us. We shot first and asked questions later. And when they dared to resist our thirst for xeno blood we created a bioweapon. Forged in the shadows of INRA, we weaponized a fungus to horrifyingly tear Thargoid-borne craft apart at the seams. Yet, the Thargoids are the evil in this galaxy, the ones who deserve to die.

When the Thargoids came back, rightfully so, they started their path of revenge. Tearing apart Imperial convoys and independent pilots' pitiful ships, they wanted naught but redemption. These beautiful creatures who we fought so dastardly to extinct came back for their rightful rematch. Once again, when met with resistance to our chronic oppression, we've pledged to slaughter them. The Proteus Wave, and now organizations dedicated to the "hunting" of sentient life, are all hellish abominations born out of a tainted conquerer mindset. Humanity was not made to own the stars, yet we still demand them. Humanity does not bear the right to oppress, yet we do. Thargoids were not made to be exploited and hunted, they were born to live and explore.

We as humans refuse to accept anything but our self-made truths. And because of such a twisted way of thinking, Thargoids deserve to die. Those who have come to avenge their fallen brothers deserve to be slaughtered. Those who defend themselves from constant territorial violations deserve to die. Thargoids were made to be nothing but cannon fodder, made to be but combat bonds. Not even unarmed logistics vessels deserve to live, they were all made to die the same. In the human mind, they do not deserve to see the stars as we do.

IN THE HUMAN MIND, THEY DESERVE TO DIE.
