Parley

It would appear that I have achieved the first great success in my galactic campaign. Commander Fanstea, leader of Congressus Tenebris, has contacted me, via the Argon Labs communications network no less. Of course, this network has always allowed public access, so that in itself is of little concern, but it does show a certain boldness and initiative. I would expect nothing less from the leader of a once great faction. Of course, the subject of the communication was essentially a peace treaty, if such a term can be applied to this war of mine. I still am not certain that calling it a war is quite appropriate as I am very much acting alone, regardless of the unknown number of other agents whose actions run parallel to mine. I have no contact with them, and thus am not coordinating with them, so it hardly seems appropriate to use such grandiose terms. But I digress. Apparently it took some effort and research to determine that I was the primary culprit of this aggression. Admittedly, that came as something of a surprise. I would have thought my involvement was quite obvious. A two billion credit bounty tends to speak volumes, not to mention numerous public logbooks detailing in quite plain terms my actions against CT, including my motivations. But perhaps these were not obvious enough. In any case, I responded as befits one of my disposition and reiterated my intentions, though I do not expect them to fully understand. Throughout my years, I have become accustomed to the inability of the common man to see the galaxy the same way that I do, to understand the true costs involved in making lasting change. Most see only what is in front of them, their vision clouded by immediate distractions and their ability impeded by the unneccecary trappings of the life they think they want. But perhaps a leader like Fanstea will prove to be wiser than the common rabble and may see the reasoning in my actions, extreme as they may have been.

It is out of respect for this demonstration of responsibility that I have elected to pause my activities against CT for the time being. There is a choice to be made now. Will CT grow their ranks and bring back their heroes to serve their cause once again, or will they take this opportunity to relinquish the burdens of rulership? We shall see. I am a patient man. I have other business to attend to in this time, which may be what they need to regroup and focus on purging the corruption and calamity from their domain. Perhaps, then, they can emerge victorious over their foes. I can only hope they appreciate this gesture of respect from me, for I know that they will get no such reprieve from the Thargoids.
